****************** Aaron's P.O.V.*************
We sit in silence for what seems like forever in the lobby of the hospital, waiting on my mom to come pick us up. Finally, she texts me saying she's waiting outside for us. I tell the girl across from me that we can leave now. I've really gotta help here remember her name. I can't keep calling her "the girl" for forever.
We walk outside and get in my moms car, her taking the passenger seat and me getting in the back.
"I just wanna say thanks, for helping me out. I know you probably didn't plan on taking in a girl who has no idea who she is." She says slightly laughing.
"Oh honey, don't worry about it! We're just glad Aaron saw you in time!" My mom says.
It's only about a ten minute drive from the hospital to my house, so we're there in no time. We walk in the house and she just stands by the door. Ever since we left the hospital she's looked really pale and hasn't seemed focused. I guess my mom noticed too, because she led her into the living room and sat down with her on the couch.
"Are you okay? You look kind of sick." My mom asks her.
"No, I'm fine. Just trying to remember something. Anything, really. It's so weird not knowing anything about yourself." She says.
"Well what if we at least figure out a temporary name for you? Cause I have no idea what I'm supposed to call you" I say
"That would be a good start." She says.
"Okay, so what name do you want?" My mom says.
"I like the name Addie...." She said after a few minutes. "I saw it in a magazine at the hospital."
"I think that's a beautiful name." My mom says smiling.
"Okay, so Addie how about we go drive around town tomorrow and see if anything can help jog your memory." I say.
"That would be great. But I don't want you to have to go out of your way doing stuff for me or anything...." She says shyly.
"Oh no no no! Aaron just sits around and does nothing these days anyways now that he's graduated." My mom says laughing.
"Yeah I totally don't mind. It might even be fun! You might see something that could make you remember something about yourself and who you are." I said.
"Okay. Thank you guys so much. I really appreciate all your help." She said smiling.
"No problem" My mom and I both say at the same time.
I can't believe after all she's been through she's so worried about being a bother to us.. I mean I know it's weird randomly staying at some strangers house and a lot of people would probably be rude about it, but my mom's always been a really caring person that lives to help other people.
It started getting late, so after Addie ate something at started looking a little better we went and made up the guest bedroom for her and got her settled in. All her stuff got burnt up in the crash so she had no extra clothes, and the ones she did have on were still kind of wet from the rain. So I went and got her an old t-shirt of mine and a pair of sweatpants and brought them to her to sleep in.
After Addie was completely comfortable and in bed, I went back to my room to text Jennifer and tell her what all was going on and the situation with Addie. She was kind of skeptical at first about having another teenager girl living in my house with me, but she understood what was going on so she was okay with it. Plus she knows I'd never cheat on her with anybody...
