Sports gone wrong (Niall Centric)

Niall POV

Today is the big day where I get to play for the Irish rugby team and I was so excited! The head office rang me a couple of weeks ago and they offered me to play for charity. I agreed so now here I am, playing for my home team.

I know the boys are worried but really what was the worst that could happen?

Louis POV

Today was the day that Niall was playing for the Irish rugby team and to say we were worried was an understatement. It may sound ridiculous for us to be so worried about someone who is the same age as us but he is the life of the group and I don't know what we would do without him.

We all pack into Liam's Range Rover and head of to the stadium. When we arrive we take our seats and wait for the teams to come out.

I peer over at Liam and see that he is biting his nails which he only does when he is really really nervous (the last time was the X factor house). Meanwhile Harry is looking straight down onto the pitch where Niall would be very soon. I could see that he was worrying about what was going to happen. I knew how he was feeling. When Niall had told me that he was going to play in a match for his rugby team I was really worried. I glanced over at Liam and he has the same look on his face. Paul has even come with us today because I think that he has a soft spot for Nialler.

We hear the teams being called onto the pitch. It's Wales against Ireland. Niall is so obvious to spot with his fluffy blonde hair. He has had a special shirt made for this game. They sing their national anthems and then start playing. The first half goes well but my feeling still hadn't gone away. Don't get me wrong Niall played great but in comparison to the other men Niall was tiny.

One of the team members, Josh passed the ball to Niall. The other rugby players were at the end where josh had just been. Niall caught the ball and started to sprint to the other side of the pitch. The other team started to hurl towards him. Considering the fact that Niall was the smallest there his legs could only take him so far. One of the Wales members was getting closer to Niall the further he ran. Another Wales member came up beside Niall. He manger to get past them and carry on. The lads and I were chanting for Niall as he ran. Just as he jumped over the line and score the two men from earlier piled on top of him. It happened almost in slow motion. His shoulder collided with the floor and one of the men's rugby boots smacked into his head. They got off of him and I was waiting for him to sit up. It was when he didn't that i was worried. I looked at Liam and we both stood up and started to run down just as the paramedics were.

When I got down there, what I saw I wouldn't forget. Niall's hair had gone red with the amount of blood that was coming out of his head. His shoulder was at a funny angle and so was his leg. I took his hand and wouldn't let go. When we got to the ambulance they said one of us could go with him. I looked over at Liam and Harry and they nodded, knowing that I had a soft spot for him. So I hopped in, not letting go of his hand.

The back of the ambulance was exactly like they showed it on the television. As I was looking around th machine started to beep. As the paramedics started to work on him only two words seemed to register, "Cardiac Arrest". I immediately started to panic. I knew we were near the hospital so I could only pray. When we were there they rushed him through to treatment and told me to wait in a waiting room. The boys came in about 5 minutes later, I immediately got up and hugged Liam. I needed a hug from daddy directioner. Tears finally falling down my cheeks. I knew I was shaking. Liam wrapped his arms around me tightly.

"Lou, what happened?" He asked gently.

"W-we were in the back of the ambulance a-and everything was o-ok, but then suddenly t-the machine a-round me started going off and I didn't know what was going on and then they said that h-he had gone I-into c-cardiac a-arrest." I finished, nearly hyperventilating.

"Lou, you need to calm down ok? The doctors will do their best and I promise you that Niall will be ok? But please calm down, Niall wouldn't want  you to react like this would he?"

I nodded and sat down, Liam on one side and Harry on the other. I put my head in my hands. I think Liam and Harry were there in case I did anything stupid. Suddenly a burst of anger suddenly washed over me and I got out my seat and went to go and punch the wall when I felt two strong arms hold me back. They held me back and just hugged me.

"Louis its ok, please just calm down" Harry said.

Suddenly a nurse walked in to the room. "We have news on Niall Horan" 

"What do you know?" I asked with desperation.

"Niall came in in a serious condition. His heart had gone into cardiac arrest. Now we have managed to stabilise this and it was caused by the shock so that's all sorted. He dislocated his shoulder and we have put that back in place. Niall also broke his arm and his leg. These have both been put in a cast and he will have to be in a wheelchair until he has his arm cast removed in 4 weeks. Then for the next 2 weeks after that he can use crutches for his legs. His head was bleeding a lot when we same in, this has been stitched up and these will be removed in a weeks time. He has a minor concussion which is pretty amazing for his condition. You may see him, follow me."

He's going to be okay!!!!!!

I eagerly followed the nurse down the corridor and sat in one of the chairs next to Niall to wait for him to wake up. Liam and Harry thanked the nurse and sat the other side. Niall started to stir.

"Hey Ni" I whispered.

"Hey what happened?" He asked.

"Your rugby match took a turn for the worst, you broke your arm and your leg. Both right. Don't worry though we can take care of you."

Niall asked Liam and Harry whether he could have a moment, once he had talked with them. 

"What ni?"

"I love you Louis. You don't have to say any-"

I simply replied with a kiss.

"I love you too Ni"

A/N Omg! I really enjoyed writing this and sorry I have taken so long to update! I'm on holiday now though so if you have any prompts send me them now because I'm desperate to write for you all and I'll be able to get them done! This hit 3K the other day guys and I just wanna thank you all for reading this!!
