"Jules..." Rory hesitated. Julie looked him up and down in his tux. He looked good. She was glad that he was here, supporting this. Maybe he really was changing.

"What's up?" She glanced over her shoulder. She was all made up, and Kara was getting the final touches of her makeup done now. Her friend looked beautiful. The ivory mermaid's dress she had picked out was perfect. She glowed with happiness. Or maybe that was the pregnancy.

It had been a few weeks since Christmas, and Julie was riding on a high still from the Academy. She was now Female Two. She and the other top five had already started their solo practices for the final performance. She was guaranteed a final five spot, but the exact spot for the final performance wasn't set yet. Rose couldn't meet her eyes, but Julie felt her glare from time to time. As long as she stayed away, Julie would leave her alone.

"Can you come with me?" Rory asked, wringing his hands. She'd never seen him do that before.

She narrowed her eyes. This couldn't be good. "Why?"

He jerked his head, and she sighed.

"Fine. Kara, I'll be back in a few minutes. Rory needs me for something." She rolled her eyes at Kara to let her know how she felt about him pulling her away.

"This better be good," she whispered when they left the room. He didn't answer.

They walked outside the small chapel. It was tucked away in the woods in a garden. The whole thing inside was shaped by tall, arched beams and huge panes of glass. The doors were carved wood leading outside. Behind her the glass doors leading into the actual chapel were glass and wood, the panes in the shape of leaves and branches. It reminded her vaguely of the gathering place on Seelie but a poor knock off.

The building only held enough room for a hundred guests, but they wouldn't come close to filling that space. Since Kara and Ethan were getting married during the week, they got an open spot right away. His parents were here, but no one else. Ethan didn't want it to get back to Seelie, and they were afraid to tell Jamie. He would want to come, and he couldn't leave the island without their father. So Ethan was going to break it to him after the honeymoon.

Rory pushed the doors open, and Julie stopped dead when she saw Kara's parents.

"I can't believe you told!" Julie yelled at Rory. After all the secrecy, the plans to help Kara have a new life with Ethan. And Rory told! "What if they try to take her?"

Rory looked away. "They promised—"

"I don't care what they promised! You promised. You knew what was at stake, and you still ran back to them at Seelie. It will always be Seelie with you, won't it?"

Julie walked over to Marisol, pulling up her powers until she was glowing with it.

The elder's eyes widened, and she stepped back. "I think you need to understand—"

"Let me make sure you understand something," she interrupted. "You will not touch Kara. You won't interfere with this. She will not say anything about your stupid island. She still loves you enough to do that. You will let her be with Ethan and have a happy life and family with him. Do you understand?"

Sedwin stepped between them.

Julie's hair rose. Damn static. Now she would have to redo her hair because of them.

"If you try to take her. I will come. I will make you pay. All of you." The air around her crackled. "You know I can do it. And now I know that too. I will suck you all dry and leave Seelie a husk under the sea."
