Your pov:
"Caramel lattee please." I said as I pulled out a $10.00 bill from my black messenger bag pocket. "Coming right up, your name is?" The barista said "Y/n" I say as I hand him the bill. He smiles and gets my change. "Coming right up." I head over to the waiting area to grab my coffee and felt my body relax. The aroma of the coffee shop relaxing me after such a long week with school. "Y/n?" The person at the counter calls and I step up, grabbing my coffee and heading over to a small booth in the corner of the room. I curl up in the chair and put my coffee on the small square table. I reach into my messenger bag and pull out my current read, Elenore and Park by Rainbow Rowell.
I open it and pick up where I left off. Park was just beginning to talk to Elenore and was giving her mix tapes of his favourite bands. I smile at my book and reach around for my coffee. Lifting it up and carefully reading the next few lines. I take a few small sips from my coffee as I hear the chair in front of me move.
I look up to see a very tall guy with a beanie and a flannel on. His green eyes sparkling in the light and his chestnut hair shining. "Do you mind if I sit here darling?" He asked, a small southern accent showing. I blush as he gives me a small smile, dimples clearly showing. "Yeah, sure hun." I say back. "Thank you." He says and sits down in the chair he pulled out, he goes into his bag and pulls out a silver laptop. He plugs it in to the wall and opens the laptop. He caught me staring and I blush a deeper red, feeling my cheeks heat up. I look down at my book and try to keep reading. "Y/n is it?" He said while looking at your coffee cup. You quickly glance at his, Sam written in cursive lay fancily on the white sticker. "Yeah, nice to meet you Sam." He smiles "What are you reading?" Sam asks and I look down. "Elenore and Park., it's kind of a chick novel." He chuckles. "There's nothing wrong with chick novels, I got through The Fault In Our Stars, not gonna lie. I cried like a little bitch over that book." I laugh "It's okay, so did I." He smiles and reaches over for his coffee. Taking a sip from it, he spills a small amount down his chin. I giggle and hand him a napkin. He quickly puts his coffee on the table and wipes his chin, where a small amount of stubble lay. "Thanks darling."
"You from around here?" He asks and I shake my head no. "I live one town over but I like to camp out here. How about you?" "No, I'm road tripping with my brother Dean. He has a umm special friend over and I'm abandoning the hotel for a while Giving them some alone time." I laugh and look out the window, small droplets of rain begin to fall from the sky, the twinkle lights hanging from the top of the window making it shimmer as if it were glitter. "How did you get here." "I walked." I stated and took a sip of my coffee, the cold from outside seeping in from the window. "Well, I'm not going to let a beautiful lady like you walk home in the cold rain. Let me know when you want to go and I'll drive." I smile and shake my head. "Sam your too kind, it's alright the rain won't kill me." He laughs. "No, but it can get you sick." I roll my eyes. "Point taken. Thank you." He smiles and types on his computer. "No problem. Don't let me keep you from your book." I smile and go back to reading.
My book ended and I looked up, teary eyed. The ending not being what I had expected nor wanted, currently broken hearted over the book I see Sam highly concentrated on his laptop. He looks over to me and gives a sympathetic smile. "Book not end the way you wanted?" I nod my head and he reaches his hand across the table to reach mine. Holding it, he stokes my knuckles with his fingers. "It's okay, maybe there will be another book." I laugh with tears forming in my eyes. "God I hope there is." He laughs. "Ready to go?" He asks and I nod my head. Getting up I stretch my legs and walk over to the trash, throwing out my now empty coffee. I walked back over to the table and put my book back in my bag, grabbing my phone, making sure I had no messages and putting it back in my bag. "Ready?" I nod my head and we head out to a black 67 Chevy impala. Sam unlocks the car fast, the rain becoming heavy with every growing second. "I'll be right back." He says and I get in the passenger side of the car as he jogs back into the coffee shop.
He comes back a few minuets later and opens the drivers side. He hands me two cups and gets in. Throwing his bag in the back seat. "The one in your right hand is yours. Its caramel." I smile and put his in the cup holder. He starts the car and turns on the heat. "Where to?" He asks. "182 Lime street drive." He smiles, and nods. "I think I know where that is, has the motel I'm staying at with my brother Dean just down the road." He turns on the radio and Cherry wine by Hoizer begins playing softly. I take a sip and see Sam's name written in sharpie on the side with numbers. I grab my phone and type in his name and number, snapping a quick picture of him while he was driving. "Thank you Sam." I say smiling, soon enough he pulled up outside my house. "Thank you Sam." In one brave move I kiss his cheek and run out of the car with my stuff. Slamming the car door shut behind me I bolt to my front door, stepping in multiple puddles. I opened the door and dropped my bag on the ground, my phone dinged and I checked it.
Sam: I'd love to get coffee again tomorrow... If you'd like too. And you can kiss my lips.... Have a great day. Thank you for letting me sit with you beautiful. I had a lot of fun.
