Wow, i have not updated this in forever, and i realize some of this is convoluted in a plot stand point, but i want to try and clear some things up, but i also need to wrap this up, so i might even write a new book that is something along the lines of a sequel. If we're making a series, i guess i can even work on a prequel if i want to stretch it. Also, this one might be wrapped up kind of quickly while i work on an actual outline for the second story, that might be different, exploring another character. Anyway, let's wrap up this 'book' in at least two different chapters.
Nina had the growing feeling of her own presence becoming unwelcome within her group of friends that were trying to teach her about the strange revelation that she was some sort of ruler of a dead species. To combat this, and giver herself a break from the flow of confusing information, she decided to go home, leaving the dragons in their mountain cottage while she mulled over the new discoveries and questions. Once she could come to terms with her position, she would try to return to her normal life and deal with these new problems.
"Thanks for the lift, Michael." Nina mumbled as the dark skinned dragon set her down on the ground in front of her small house. The male dragon did not respond, he just stared at Nina's small house.
"Milady, why do you live in such a small abode? This doesn't seem very appropriate for your social rank." He pointed out, still eyeing the small house as he spoke in a low, almost cautious tone. Nina followed his gaze to her home and only shrugged nonchalantly, "I dunno, it's cheap and comfortable, so i like it. plus i can't really afford a castle or anything, so this will have to do." Nina said sarcastically, beginning to make her way across the stiff, frozen lawn towards her door.
"Why don't you just come back and stay with us? It would be safer for someone of your status, instead of you just staying here alone." Michael offered, a small tinge of fear tracing his voice even as he spoke.
Nina only shrugged, giving a small smile over her shoulder once she had reached her door, with one final wave the two went their separate ways. Nina's house was just as she remembered it, slightly messy, somewhat small, and over filled with cluttering furniture that already looked as if she hadn't been there for years. The dark haired girl didn't even dare trying to turn on the lights, fully aware that she had missed the bill, instead she only dusted off the brown couch and plopped down, thinking about everything that had just happened. Shadows were still small, so Nina knew that if she fell asleep, she wouldn't wake up for a while, so she fought to stay up, but that didn't seem to help with her thoughts. The silence nagged at Nina, eating at the calm attitude that she was feeling at the moment.
With her power shut off, Nina was left in the eerie silence of the empty house, the only sound being the occasional yowl of a cat in heat, and the soft chirping of the birds outside. It was as if some part of her was sedatephobic, and the pressing silence was almost sending her into a crazy spiral of panic. Not even a few moments having passed, Nina was scrambling out of her house, tears welling up in her greenish blue eyes as she rushed outside into the chilly air, gasping in breath and trying to smooth her fear to reach that tranquility that she had felt only five minutes earlier.
Once Nina had settled her phobia, she looked back into the silent house, debating on whether to go back in, or to just go to Elena's house; she almost instantly chose to visit her friend. With that, the pale immortal walked down the sidewalk, the form hugging blue shirt that Amy had loaned Nina shifting slightly in the breeze as she walked, lost in her thoughts of her own capabilities and powers. Nina walked for a while, more or less just loosely following the path to her friends path rather than just focus on the destination.
During her walk, Nina wondered the alleys and streets of the neighbor hoods, smelling the varying scents of normal life while her mind flicked through the knowledge she had just learned. Winter was beginning to close, so the ebony haired immortal spent some of her time enjoying the sight of birds reoccupying trees, lessening snow, and just enjoying the urban environment as she strayed from place to place. After a long while, Nina finally came to stand in front of Elena's front gate, staring up at the massive estates fancy rot iron gate.
Nina didn't even have to knock before Elena came scurrying over to open the large gate, scrambling out to hug her friend. "Oh my gosh! Where have you been?" Elena questioned, nearly dragging Nina into her yard as she spoke animatedly, a tight pony tail holding her long blonde hair out of her face as her blue eyes sparkled at the sight of her friend. Nina didn't try to answer any of the blondes questions, she was simply happy to see her friend so happy and noisy, which remedied Nina's instant sedatephobia.
While Nina was dragged forward into her best friends mansion, a dark figure stood watching her from outside the gate, where the strange creature stood in the thick shadows that were cast by one of the nearby houses in the evening light. Unaware of this strange person, Nina smiled and laughed, talking to her friend as usual, forgetting everything she had learned, and experienced in the past few days. Alas, nothing could stay perfect for long. This might be the end of the book, i might write a sequel, but i don't know, leave a comment if you think i should write a sequel or something for this story. I promise if i do, it will be a lot better structure-wise than this tale. Anyway, i hope you enjoyed, leave any comments if you think i should continue the series, or just vote on the parts to show your support, either one is fine, peace!
