Louis's P.O.V.

Here I am at my birth father's house at 10:00 in the morning. I need to get this man to give Emma blood for her surgery and I'll do whatever it takes. Everything that I am doing is for Emma.

I go to the front door and knock. I hear a dog bark and then a man walks up and opens the door. He looks a lot like me. We have the same eyes and color hair, except he's 36 and I'm 18.

"Can I help you?" He asks.

"Yes, yes you can. I'm your son."

"My son? That's preposterous."

"My mother's name is Rose Dean." His face goes blank and he invites me in.

"After all these years, how old are you now?"

"18" I answer.

"Okay, what's your name, kid?"

"I'm not a kid and it's Louis. Look, I didn't come here to talk about your mistake." I gesture to myself.

"I need a favor." I say.

"And that is?"

"Okay so there's this girl... and I love her okay? She's the only one who knows me better then I know myself. She recently got in a car accident and needs surgery on her back and her blood type is AB Negative. This is where you come in. I need you to donate some blood so that she can have the operation done."

"You like this girl?"

"With all my heart."

"Okay, then. I'll do it."

"Really?" I'm surprised.

"Of course, just because I was stupid when I was a kid, doesn't mean that I am now. I would do anything for you, son. Now that I know who you are." He smiles at me and I look away.

"Why?"

"Why what?"

"Why did you leave her? Us?"

"I was scared, Louis and I didn't know what to do. I was afraid of growing up and I didn't want a kid holding me back. Now that I have grown up, I know that it was a big mistake for me to leave."

"That doesn't make up for what you did." I frown.

"I know it doesn't and it probably never will." We sit in silence for a few minutes.

"I'm going to be just like you." I whisper. He looks a me with confusion.

"A father at 18." I clarify.

"Oh."

"But I'm not going to leave my fiancé and baby behind."

"Fiancé?"

"Yes if you must know. We are getting married in 2 1/2 months." I snap.

"Well, I'm happy for you."

"Thanks." Thank god that we are finally at the hospital. I run out of the car and through the front doors. The nurse who I talked to yesterday is standing behind the counter. I walk up to her and she smiles. My father finally comes through the doors and the nurse takes my father back to draw some of his blood. I make my way to Emma's room and sit next to her bed. She is still breathing, thank goodness. Her blonde hair hangs off the bed in beautiful waves. I cup my hand around her flawless face. Even with cuts, bruises, and a back that needs operated on. My thoughts are interrupted when a surgeon and his assistants walk into the room.

"Excuse me, sir. We have to take Miss Hail to the operating room." I nod and decide to walk with them to the room. I hold her hand one last time before they take her inside. I hope that all goes well, or I could never see her again.
