-Melanie
I got up off the bench and brushed my fingers along the material that was wrapped around my arm.
"Thank you." I smiled lightly.
"No problem. I've got to go and run some errands, I want you to just stay here, ok?" He said, looking concerned.
I shrugged, "whatever makes you feel better angel face." I smirked as he blushed at my familiar nickname.
I shuffled out of the room, leaving me stranded. I sighed to myself and slid the rubber bands out of my hair, letting my two-toned hair frame my face. I walked out of the kitchen and back into the entrance hall. It made my eyes light up, the ceiling laced with carvings, swirling around a golden chandelier. It was heaven on earth, or rather an angel's den in hell. It was impossible to believe Josh could ever be sent here, he seemed so innocent. So ... pure.
I came to a room with a light buzzing noise creeping under the crack under the door. With luck, it was unlocked. As I walked in, my eyes were met with a huge computer system, around it, guitars of all sorts laced the walls and a white sparkling drum kit in the corner. in the middle of everything, a mic, already on and ready.
"Well, he did say get comfy so." I smirked as I grabbed an acoustic from the wall and took a seat on the stool in front of the mic.
I stayed quiet for a minute, waiting for so much as a bump. But still nothing. As I began to strum the familiar song, my lips lightly touched the mic.
"Miss Maggie was way too young to understand, why she got thrown into someone else's hands...

I waltzed into the dinner room again feeling proud of myself for being Melanie's night in shining armour, having the slightest slice of hope that she liked me back. I had to hold in my laughter when I saw Brendon holding his red cheek as he frowned hard. I shook my head as I walked over to Poppy, who was taking tiny bites from a slice of buttered bread.
"Hey." I waved as she placed the bread down on her plate and clapped her hands together.
"Finally, I got everything for you." She smiled, handing me a brown paper bag filled with warm cake and pie.
I said my thank you's and hurried out of the room. I peeked inside the bag, taking a sniff of the sweetness as I kicked the door of my room open. I furrowed my eyebrows as I saw Melanie wasn't in the room. I placed the bag down carefully and walked around, shoving my hands in my pockets. I heard a voice coming from the music room, making a smirk sneak my face.
I tip-toed over to the door, pressing my ear against the door as I listened to her sweet singing.
"Angels swoop down and grab me."
I smiled brightly, she's amazing!
"And now I'm safe away,
From the million men who raised me."
My smile dropped.
"Why do you have to sell me to those mean old men?"
I swallowed hard.
"They cut me up in places, I don't even understand,"
She doesn't mean..
"It's normalcy to me, How will my boyfriend understand?"
She isn't talking about herself is she?
"I'm seventeen ... With a history ... Of a million men."
No.
No.
NO.
"NO!" I yelled, bursting threw the doors.
My heart sank as I looked in the beautiful girls eyes. Her eyes, they were tired and dull. She gently unwrapped herself from the guitar and placed it back on the wall before holding her hands and walking over to me.
"Josh, I can explain."
"Y-You were in human trafficking? Melanie W-What the fuck."
"I-I didn't want to, I had to. Josh, you can't tell anyone."
"What! Why!?"
"Because it's a secret!"
"Melanie. When were you going to tell me."
She shrugged, looking down at the ground in shame. I didn't know what to do, so I hugged her, I just hugged her. She looked up from my chest, her mouth parted slightly. I gulped hard, swallowing my fear.
Then I kissed her.
