********************

Darshan's POV

As I stepped inside main door of my mansion, I found Shamu Kaka running towards me with joy in his eyes.

"Are are Kaka, aaram se." I said catching him as he was about to trip. "Kya hua? Itne khush lag rahe ho."

"Darshan Baba, aapki Maa aayi hai."

"Kya? Kab? Kaise?" I exclaimed in joy.

It's been months since I met her last. I missed her so much. She's my lifeline. I love her damn much.

Without any second thought, I rushed towards the kitchen. I knew she would definitely be in there.

"Maa!!" I called.

"Are Darshan," Tears roll down her eyes seeing me. "Kaise ho tum beta?"

"Main thik hoon. Aap kese ho Maa?"

"Main to thik hi hoon. Mere bete ko meri yaad kaha aati hai?"

"Are aati hai Maa. Aap bhi kya—"

"Kya aap bhi kya? Ek mahine see aawaz nahi suni tumhari. Itna kya busy the ki Maa ko call nahi kar paaye?"

"Kuch nahi... Bas aise hi."

"Are aise kaise kuch nahi? Kuch toh baat hogi na? Chalo batao mujhe ab."

"Are Maa... Aisa kuch bhi nahi hai!"

She still kept glaring at me.

"Maa... chalo na... chodo baat ko. Mujhe bhook lagi hai. Kuch khane to do."

"Are baba, pehle batana chahiye tha na. Mera bachha kitna patla ho gaya hai. Chal deti hu tujhe khana. Tera favourite poha banaya hai."

"Poha!!! Are waah! Main abhi fresh hokar aata hoon."

***************************

After a long shower, I finally decided on wearing a white button up shirt with a midnight blue tux. Tied my watch on wrist. Wore some perfume. Gelled my hair to the left side letting one strand of hair fall over the forehead. And I'm all done.

I checked the time and it was already 3:30. Means I have to rush. But poha?

Acha, I'll tell Maa to pack it in a tiffin. I'll take some for Nidhi too. Great idea Darshan.

"Maa, late ho raha hai. Aap tiffin me pack kar do. Thoda zyada karna. Mere colleague ke liye."

"Acha beta, but tu ghar kab tak aayega? Aur khane me kya banau aaj?"

"Pata nahi Maa. I guess shaam tak aa jaaunga. Aur kuch bhi bana do. Aapko toh pata hai na mujhe aapke haath ka sab kuch acha lagta hai!"

"Haaye, kisi ki najar na lage mere Darshu ko!" She caressed my head.

She handed me the tiffin and I went towards the car. I got inside the drivers seat and drove off to Nidhi's place.

After minutes and minutes of waiting, Nidhi finally arrived. She was wearing a blue washed Adidas sweatshirt over some white pants and some white sneaker shoes. Casual enough.

"Finally ready?" I asked opening the passenger seat door for her.

"Yup!"

"Tum ladkiyon ko itna time kyu lagta hai I don't know!!"

"Aur tum ladke itne jaldi kaise tayar hote ho woh mujhe nahi pata chalta!" She snapped back at me.

The next few minutes of drive to the office was quiet. None of us had uttered a word. Just the slow song playing on the radio. And Nidhi humming the song in her beautiful voice. That voice I fell in love with. I just want to keep hearing that soulful voice for as long as I  live.

I don't know why we fight. I really like her a lot but I don't know how to tell her that. I'm afraid that she would start being distant from me. Because our first greet was not very polite, I hate the fact that she already has grudges towards me. I totally agree that the fault was mine, but how could I know that I was gonna fall for her? That she was going to matter so much to me? Stupid Darshu! You should have kept your mouth shut that day. I mentally slap myself.

Nidhi is the first one after her that I feel like this for. This is the feeling I never had for anyone apart from her. She was damn special and it was not at all easy to let her go. But it was her choice and I could've done nothing.

"Darshan!!! Ruko.. office peeche gaya." Nidhi's voice interrupted my thoughts.

"Are ha!"

"Konsi duniya me chale gaye the?" She laughed as I parked into the lot.

"Kuch nahi. Chalo tum. I'll be there in a minute. Check karlo our presentation is ready to display or not."

"Ha okay. Jaldi aaao." She left.
