Loren slammed the door to her red 2016 Malibu Chevrolet. The bloop bloop from her car triggered once she mashed the lock button and threw her car keys into her Chanel bag that was dressed on her shoulder. "Come on Savannah." Loren called out to her seven year old daughter who was trailing behind her playing with her Barbie dolls.

"Mommy, why are we at the hospital?" Her squeaky voice played through Loren's ear. "To see your uncle Roddie" Loren did a faint smile while she pushed through the hospital double doors. "Oh is Uncle Roddie hurt mommy?"

"No, it's just a check up baby." Loren eyes met with the doctor that usually does Rodgers monthly check ups, Dr.Williams gave Loren a winning smile and did a slight jog over to her with his clipboard pressed against his chest. "Hey Loren. Rodger is right down the hall in the sand spot, I'll be in soon."

Dr.Williams is a tall muscular white guy that Loren always found attractive, but of course she never saw herself with him. At times she would often find herself staring into his light green eyes or looking at his pink lips.

"Alright. Thank you." Loren often goes to Rodger's check up with him, just because Rodger needs some support and he doesn't want Kijah to come with him. So who better than his little sister who always has his back?

"Uncle Roddie" Savannah yelled loudly while she ran into Rodger's arms. "Hey uncles baby. How you been hustla?" Rodger rubbed the top of her long zig zag braids that fell to the side of her face, Loren resembled Keri Hilson just a darker version and of course Savannah looked exactly like her mom. Rodger feared he'd have to kill someone's son because they would play his sister or his beautiful niece.

"I been good, you know my birthday coming up." Of course Rodger wasn't interested in having his own kids but he knew exactly why. It's not that Rodger hated kids, children had nothing to do with his personal problems that he brought on himself. "Yes and I already got your gift."

"What is it?" Savannah dropped her Barbie doll on the cold tile getting excited by her uncles comment. She had so much love for her uncle, even though Loren knew his other side he never showed it around her. Rodger was the only positive male figure in her life because her dad just didn't want to be that guy.

"Can't tell you but it's something you always wanted." Savannah took what he said and ran with it literally, she couldn't help but jumping around and being excited but of course her mom had to calm her down. "You been taking your meds?" Loren questioned him as she smoothed out her yellow pencil skirt and took a seat in the open chair near the bed Rodger was laid out on.

"Of course, it's just been hard." Rodger held his head back with his hands running down his face. "Of course Rodger, what the hell did you expect? For this shit to be easy?"

"I didn't Loren, I just didn't expect for it to be so bad. I know I'm ruining a lot of lives because of my situation too." Rodger knew he was a good guy but he wasn't too right in the head, it wasn't something he could control. He was an addict. "I just found out this girl that I use to have sexual relations with been keeping a kid from me, the same kid I gave her money to abort."

"Well, are you going to be in the child's life?" Loren ran her fingers through her bouncy curls that laid across her shoulders. "I mean, i don't know right now. I'm dealing with the situation the best way I know how."

"Are you going to tell Kijah?" Rodger wasn't hesitant to tell Loren, even though he knew they were friends, he knows Loren's loyalty is with him. "Doesn't matter if I tell her or not, she can't go anywhere. It really won't make a difference Loren and you know that."

"You know you already ruined this girls' life Rodger, you need to at least let her live! And you need to tell her the truth" Rodger always took in consideration on what Loren said. When it came down to Kijah though it was a totally different story. "I FUCKING CAN'T !"
