After everyone had had lunch and the kids were occupied elsewhere in the house, Charles and Erik settled on the sofa for some afternoon cuddling. Charles settled against Erik and the older man put his arm around the slighter form that was pressed up against his shoulder. Erik flicked through the channels on the television but there was nothing good on at this time of the day. Charles picked his book up off the side table and opened it to the marked page. However he didn't start reading, Erik knew he wanted to know why Hank wasn't going to be back for dinner tonight. With a sigh Erik told him.

Charles wasn't too surprised that it was an experiment gone wrong, after all that was a common occurrence when Tony Stark was involved in something. He wasn't that upset, Hank was almost an adult now, his oldest charge and he refused to coddle him. He said as much to Erik, and the other man had agreed. They would probably have to have another talk with Hank about safety though, the boy was putting himself in many dangerous situations for science and Charles wasn't so sure that he was comfortable with that.

"Moira's visiting next week." Charles moved onto a new topic. Erik looked away from what he was watching on the television and looked down at Charles instead.

"It's her annual visit isn't it? It's on the calendar in the kitchen." Erik had always made himself scarce when the time for Moira's visit came but he knew that she always asked about him. "Are you going to ask her about my moving in?"

"I already have actually." Erik looked at him questionably and Charles didn't leave him confused for long. "She called this morning and we had a short chat about it. She's on board and will talk with Logan about it. Hopefully in time for her visit so we can start things." Erik hummed softly and looked back at the television where the lunchtime news was just coming to an end.

"This will be good for us Charles, we've been building up to this for a long time. We both deserve to be happy in every way possible." Charles nuzzled into Erik's shoulder as the taller man spoke.

"You're right, we should have done this years ago you know." Erik made another humming sound against the top of Charles' head. Charles finally looked down at his book and began to read it.
