Anna talked me into going to the game tonight. I put on my Crawford jersey with leggings and some red converse. Crawford is by far my favourite player. We head over towards the arena early enough to get a free hat, which is the giveaway. Our seats are pretty good; Section 108, Row 6, so we're on the side where the players warmup.
Wait a sec....the guy who bought me coffee is skating in a Hawks jersey... and then it clicks. Ryan. Olympics. Hockey. Ryan Hartman bought me a frappacino. Lemme say that again. RYAN HARTMAN BOUGHT ME A FRAPPACINO. That's why he looked so familiar. Well I guess I have a new favourite player. Ryan sees me and Anna and smiles. He skates over and flips me a puck. Now I'm beaming with happiness.
The first period doesn't have much action, and at the end the score is still 0-0. In the second, Tyler Seguin of the Dallas Stars goes top shelf, making the score 1-0 in favor of the Stars. Then, Jamie Benn scores too. Uh-oh. This is bad. Yet again, another Stars goal, this time from Brett Ritchie. Now I'm really scared.
The horn blares to signal the end of the second, and we're down 3-0. We need a comeback.
It's the start of the 3rd. Artem Anisimov has the puck, and skates at top speed to the goal, with Seguin trailing far behind him. Anisimov passes the Panarin, and it's in! 3-1 after 43 seconds in the third!
13 minutes left in the 3rd and Patrick Kane is on a breakaway. He puts it right behind the goalie! Chelsea Dagger blares and we're screaming our heads off. 3-2. One more (One Goal lol). Shirts are coming down in the parachute things. One is coming down right on top of us. It's coming, it's coming, aaaand it lands in the row of the person in front of us. It was so close to us! Oh well.
Uh oh. Nick Schmaltz just turned the puck over. A Stars player I don't know has the puck and skates directly towards the goal. GLOVE SAVE BY THE CROW! Toews has the puck and passes to Hartman, who, now, is my favourite. He slaps the puck and the Stars defense doesn't even know what hit them. Now we're tied 3-3 with 2 minutes left.
I'm scared. Even if we lose, the experience of being at the UC is always fun, plus I got a puck.
Shaw has the puck (yeah i know he was traded but i don't really care because this is my story and i can keep him on the team if i want to). He skates behind the goal and wraps around. UGH! He missed. It's okay because Hossa got the rebound and he goes for the shot--- IT'S IN!! WE'RE UP 4-3 WITH 30 SECONDS LEFT!
HAWKS WIN!
Anna and I start walking towards our apartment. We can't stop talking about how amazing the game was! I mean, we recovered from a 3-0 lead and won!
I wonder if I will ever see Ryan again. I'm surprised he would talk to me. He's a professional hockey player, so there's gotta be plenty of girls that want him.Why me?
Did you guys think this chapter was okay? Too short? Too long? Sorry it took me a while to write but I have spring break next week so I'll probably write a lot then. Don't forget to comment and vote.❤️
