Chapter 4

Me and Ryan decided to meet at Billy Goat. I got there first, so I wait until he gets here until I order. He enters the restaurant wearing a grey shirt, jeans, and a Blackhawks hat. I suppose he doesn't want people to recognize him, especially because we're so close to he UC.
"Hey," he says awkwardly. I didn't think he'd be so nervous.
"Hey," I try to respond confidently. I figure if I'm confident he'll be too.
We wait in line for a bit. When we finally get up to the register, I order a hot dog and cheesy fries and Ryan gets a burger. Our food comes and we sit at a table near the bar.
"So... how long have you lived in Chicago?" Ryan asks me.
"I grew up in the suburbs but then I moved into the city a few years ago. How about you?"
"I was born in South Carolina, but I moved to the suburbs when I was little. When I got drafted I moved to the city..."
I kind of missed the last part. I was too busy looking into his dreamy eyes.
"I love playing on the Hawks..."
      Why can't I look away?
      "The guys are so nice..."
       Everything went black.

***Timeskip***

I woke up in a van. I didn't know what just  happened. All I can remember was Ryan talking and me getting lost in his eyes... Was my food drugged? Who was driving the van? I had so many questions but my mouth was duck tapped shut.
The van came to a sudden stop and the driver came out to get me. Patrick Kane opens the back of the van. I do a double take. Patrick Kane? Well, I guess Ryan plays for the Blackhawks so... Ugh. How'd I get into this mess?
Kaner and Duncan Keith, I think, lead me into a house. It's pretty nice actually. The living room is large with two big leather couches and an attached kitchen, but I apparently am not allowed to go in there at the moment.
The guys practically throw me into a room. Ryan follows behind me.
"This is going to be your room. You may as well get familiar with it. You'll be spending a lot of your time in here," he says.
"Can you please explain what's going on?" I ask. "I don't know why I'm here or what you want so can you just answer a few questions?"
"Ok but just a few. And I'm only answering specific ones!"
          "Whatever. Why am I here?"
           "Because."
           "Because why?"
"Because I said so!" He yells. I try to look frightened. Well, I am frightened.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to scare you," he says softly.
"It's fine. Are you ever going to let me go?"
          "I don't know." Uh oh.
"Ok. Can I go to sleep now? I'm kind of tired," I say. I honestly just kind of want him to leave me alone.
"Um sure." Then I realize I don't have any clothes to wear to sleep and I don't want to wear my jeans.
"Can I have clothes to sleep in?"
          "Toews is getting you some."
          "When will he be back?"
"Soon." Then he leaves and closes the door behind him. Great. This is going to be awful. Anna is probably worried sick about me. Sara is going to be pissed at me. Maybe I can convince the guys to let me go to practice. They probably understand because most of them are trying to get in too.
I decide to look around my room. It's fairly big. There's a tv, a radio, a desk, and a dresser. There's nothing in the desk or the dresser, but they're there.
A little while later I hear a knock on the door. Jonathan Toews comes in and hands me a few sets of clothes.
"Sorry you have to be in this situation. I didn't really want to do it, but the guys made me," he says. He's Canadian so I guess he's naturally polite.
"Thanks. I was wondering, though. I'm training for the Olympics and I was wondering if I can still go to practices."
"I'll ask Ryan. He's the leader of this operation. I'm guessing this means a lot to you."
"Yes. Thank you so much. Finally someone who understands. Wait, Ryan's the leader of this?"
"Yeah. I don't know why he did it, but obviously he did."
"Ok. Thanks so much for the clothes and stuff." He walks out of the room. I get changed and I try to fall asleep, which is kind of hard because I can hear some of the guys talking downstairs. I can't her what they're saying. It's probably Jonny asking if I can still go to practice. I'll figure it all out tomorrow.

A/N: PLOT TWIST! This story's plot changed really awkwardly but it's just what came into my mind. I hope you liked it. This took way shorter to write than I thought. I'll try to write a lot this week. Go Hawks! :D
