Blackpaw's Discovery

Chapter 3: Training

Blackpaw dodged as Crowwing attempted to paw her in the face. She rears up and knocks him over. Crowwing flipped her over and raked his back paws over her stomach. Blackpaw sent him flying with a sharp kick in the stomach. Crowwing hit the wall then got back up. He leaped at her. Blackpaw bit his leg then knocked him over. She kicked up dust and clouded up the training hollow, making it impossible to see. She braced herself and listened for any sign of Crowwing. It was quiet for a moment then he slammed into Blackpaw. She fell over then got back up. Then she sent a blow to Crowwing's head with her front paw."Good job Blackpaw! You are doing well. I would train with you longer, but Silverstar ordered me for patrol and I don't want to be late." Crowwing said, then walked off. Blackpaw exited the training hollow and headed to the fresh kill pile. She was starving after her first training session. But just as she was about to take a crow Foxpaw hissed at her. "The crow is mine scrap." He growled at her. "I got her first. Besides, don't we have better things to do than to fight over freshkill? It's not Leafbare you know." Blackpaw replied, grabbing the crow in her jaws and walking over to eat by Whitekit, now Whitepaw. She had her apprenticeship ceremony earlier that day. Foxpaw swiped his paw at her face claws unsheathed. Blackpaw ducked then knocked him off balance.  She raked her sheathed claws over his underbelly like she had done in training. "Oh look! The apprentices are playing!" Toadspot, one of the elders pointed out. Blackpaw kicked Foxpaw in the stomach while she had him pinned. "Back off!" She hissed in his face. "Not till the day I die." Foxpaw smirked. Blackpaw bit him then went back to where Whitepaw was sitting.
