When I wake up, its to the smell of freshly made pancakes. I sleepily open my eyes and stretch my arms, yawning and stretching my legs.

"Good morning, beautiful," Phil says from the corner of the room.

"Shut up," I say, laying back down and closing my eyes again.

"Its 11:00, Dan."

"And?"

"That means we have means today and we have to do them. C'mon, I even ordered pancakes."

"Oh, wow, pancakes?! Wow, if nothing else motivates me to get up, pancakes should really do the job," I say sarcastically, letting out another yawn.

"Daaaaaaan," the older boy whines. "Please?"

"Ugh. Fine." I grumble as I sit up and rub my eyes as if to rub the sleep out of them.

"Finally! It's about damn time! The pancakes are most likely cold now, but it's fine! You're up!" Phil cheers, clapping his hands a little bit.

"Its so cold!" I scream as I crawl out from the protective blankets.

"Quiet down! I don't want to disrupt the neighbors!" Phil called out.

"Coooooold!" I scream, even louder this time.

"Dan!"

"Coooold!"

And with the last scream, Phil runs over to me and covers my mouth.

"I didn't know you had a screaming kink," I said. Phil immediately tore his hand away from my mouth as I happily skipped away, laughing and giggling from my victory. Phil just stood there shaking his head.

"So, Philly, where're we going?" I asked, taking a bite out of the now-cold pancakes.

"I thought I could take you out to Starbucks, and then we could go back to mine," Phil suggested.

"Your what?" I asked, confused. He couldn't be talking about his apartment, right?

"My apartment, dummy."

I choked on the bit of pancake I was chewing.

"Why?"

"Because its better than this dump. And, we don't have to pay to stay there."

"Well, technically, you have to pay rent, so its not free..."

"Shut up. So, would you like to come back to my apartment with me beautiful?"

I blushed and smiled at the nickname.

"It'd be my pleasure."
