"Gateway to another dimension... sounds fake but ok." Andre said. The longer this went on, the more and more this began to sound like some giant joke.
"Right? What kind of comic book imagination are they on?" Grant added. As crazy as this was, it was still funny enough for him to find some humor in the situation, "Whatever they're smoking to come up with this, I need to get in touch with their plug."
Cheri chuckled as she refreshed her timelines, "I don't think I'd want to see you high off of something that strong, lord knows you're already annoying as is." It was always fun to pop Grant's bubble of fun before it even started, 'cause otherwise it would grow and swell into a complete headache for everyone around him if left unchecked.
While everyone was keeping up with the happenings on social media, Andre was still wondering about the warnings. When they said all doors, they couldn't be talking about doors like refrigerators, could they? Cabinets?
And that brought him to another line of thought. If they couldn't open doors, then how were his parents going to get inside? Did they even manage to get outside their building before the warnings came?
Damn it, this was worrying him. It was giving him that sinking feeling in his stomach, and he wasn't feeling that at all...
Fuck it, he'd just call them. Yeah, call them and check on them, then see where to go from there. With his mind made, he went through his contacts, his thumb pressing down on his mom's name.
The phone began to ring, catching Grant's attention, "You ordering some food, I hope. If it's some pizza, get a meat lover's one. Extra cheese and all that."
"Nah." Andre replied with a shake of the head, "Calling my folks. Need to see how this is gonna play out."
"Sounds like a smart move to me." Janice said with a hopeful smile.
The phone rang.
No answer.
Strange, his mom usually always answered her phone.
"Maybe she's still doing some late night work." Cheri mused in an attempt to calm Andre's growing nervousness. She'd been his friend since pre-k days, so there weren't any expressions or moods that he could show without her picking up on it, "Come on Andre, relax. I can see you getting upset."
Taking a break from sending Janice some lustful looks, Grant swiveled around on his stool to face his longtime friend and offer a reassuring hand, "Yeah bruh, chill out." he said. Before Andre could respond, Grant fished out a joint from his pocket, along with a pink lighter, "This can always solve ya problems, you know."
"Nigga."
Grant shrugged before putting the problem solver away, "Hey, I tried to help. But seriously though," he gestured to Andre's phone, "Just call again."
Surprisingly, it wasn't the weed Andre was talking about this time. His finger pointed at the pink lighter, "Of all the colors I'd expect to see you with, pink is missing from that list."
"Please don't tell me why it's pink." Ashley pleaded with a dry tone, "I can bet money that I know what it is."
"Pink for the titties. Gotta support them if I'm gonna suck on them, right?" Grant explained with the utmost seriousness in his voice. Crazy thing was that he was being one hundred percent serious, no matter how juvenile his reasoning sounded.
All of the women's eyes rolled so hard that it damn near gave them headaches.
Mason nodded and began to give a light golf clap, "Such a true supporter. You make me wanna go out and get something pink." he said as he and Ashley got more comfortable on the couch, with her laying on his chest. Even with the weird door thing going on, things were still going right for him.
