"Can we have some food? There's nothing to eat in the room!"
Andre heard his little sister ask for food, but in all honesty, he was still frozen in shock. For fuck's sake, his mouth still didn't close.
And that wasn't even counting the door he heard.
Gulping at the gravity of the situation, Grant looked to all of his friends, his eyes as wide as the could be, "Soooooo... group decision on staying away from doors, all in favor?"
"Aye." Was the collective response.
"Good. Now that we're all on the same page... I say we bring the kids in here so they can't open a door." Grant advised, specifically directing it at Andre, "Go get them, nigga!"
"Wow, you guys don't eat each other normally? What kind of parallel universe is this?!" Bri asked as she swiveled around in the computer chair and dragged the corpse closer to the desk, "Where I come from, it's a pastime. The thrill of the kill and celebrating your accomplishment with a meal is honestly one of my favorite things next to makeup."
Mason was visibly shaken by the casual demeanor Bri displayed when it came to talking about killing and eating another human being, "This... this can't be real life." Turning his attention to Grant, he pointed at his pockets, "Maybe it's just some extremely strong gas that Grant got. It's so strong, we all caught a contact high and now we're hallucinating. Yup, this is one big-ass hallucination!"
Despite the obvious shock that everyone was still coming to grips with, Ashley seemed to shake out of hers the quickest in order to look at Mason dryly, "Yup, now just rock back and forth and think happy thoughts. Happy place, happy place."
Andre was already down the hallway, his heart dropping back down once again due to the door being even closer to being closed than the last time. Instead of gently opening the door this time, he practically booted it open, ready for anything in case some killer cannibal version of his little siblings were in there.
But thankfully to his relief, it was just Tommy and Mimi sitting on Tommy's bed playing Minecraft. They both jumped due to the sudden entrance, with Mimi being the first to speak up, "Andre, you scared me!" Tears came to her eyes. Thank god she could cry on command, it really helped get sell the innocent, scared girl routine.
She needed a damn Grammy for this.
"And me." Tommy added, quickly getting back to his game. He was digging for diamonds, and he'd be damned if he died because of a creeper.
"Aw damn," Andre started, his tone laced with guilt as he picked his baby sister up. He didn't have to kick the door open, but fear and a swirl of other emotions always had a special way of making people act irrationally, "I didn't mean to scare y'all, I'm so sorry." He apologized with a hug.
Continuing to play her part, Mimi nestled her head in between his head and shoulder, right in the crook of his neck. Right where the jugular was...
It was right there, one bite and he'd bleed to death quickly, and they'd have a meal...
Her mouth opened as she sobbed and inched closer to the jugular, "Promise you won't scare me again, big brother?" Her mouth was watering at the thought of eating again. It's been over two days.
Too bad that Andre pulled her away at the last second to hold her in front of him. He smiled brightly, shaking her a little playfully, "I promise." With his apology seemingly accepted, he set her down back on the bed and looked at the closet door. From this angle, it seemed closed. He started to go check and make sure, but he heard Cheri's panicked voice from the living room.
