Piper: I Can Do This!

I cant believe I just summoned water from my hands! This is so cool! But Jason, that fire trick he did was so awesome. I hate to admit it but that the way he looked so focused when he summoned fire to his hand was intense. I cant just ignore the fact that he has amazing looks.

Right I should probably focus on where we're going right now. It would be helpful if I could navigate my way without needing a guide. Oh wait, I don't even know where we're going in general.

"Where are we going?"

Jason raises an eyebrow but answers. "Where else do you think we're going. Outside of course." He laughs and I blush. Whatever its not like I've done this before. Mr. All High And Mighty.

He holds open the door and we step outside. I notice this isn't the entrance we came from. I stop suddenly and he walks right into me.

"Hey Kitten little warning next time? What's wrong."

"This isn't the same entrance we came into, is this behind the palace?"

"Yeah, it leads to the forest if you walk about a mile. We will go there for training sometimes. But today we're meeting in the field, who knows where we will go for training when its an Event day." Jason points and I see a group of kids standing in groups a little ways away. I'm so amazed by the pretty scenery I don't even realize he continued talking.

"-so we better hurry." Huh? Should I ask him to repeat that or just pretend I heard. Before I can make a choice he grabs my hand at starts to run over to the group of people.

Jeeze hes fast! I honestly didn't expect Jason to be able to run faster than me. I have practice running because sometimes you really need to get out of a situation as fast as possible back in my village. But Jason? Damn I'm surprised.

We come to a stop at the group of people, and just in time. As I catch my breath a figure in a black robe appears in the front of the field.

"Hello Apprentices. I am Mage Darrien. I have been a Mage for 3 years now. Today I will be teaching for your physical course lesson. Everyone please make your way over to the forest while... Piper? Will you please come see me."

Wait what? what could I have done already... I just got here. I look to Jason but he just shrugs.

"I'll wait up for you at the back of the group." He walks off and I make my way over to Darrien. 

As I approach he takes of his hood of the robe. I was definitely surprised  to see how good looking he was. Even though he was older by at least 6 years he looked our age. He was handsome in a way that showed he had been through a lot and knew more than you'd expect.

"You're Piper, correct?" 

"Uh Y-yes Sir" Great, why do I always stutter in front of the important people?

"And you're new here if I'm correct. You just arrived today. Well in the exercises today there will be some element use but a majority of it will be physical body work. Stick with Jason and when you get hurt severely he can heal you. He knows about this already but I just wanted to warn you that you will get hurt today, because we are running a course with many obstacles Natural and Magic-made. Don't worry, you look like a tough one Piper, I have faith you will be one of the best students I have ever seen." 

I blush with the praise. 

"Have you started trying anything with either of your elements?"

"Yes, Jason taught me to summon water a little earlier, Sir."
