All the kidnappers had made a list of the children and their phone numbers. The list was checked and my phone number was dialed the very moment we reached the police station. My mom picked up the phone, she said, "Hello! Betsy Stevens here on the phone, how can I help you?" I heard the same kind voice of my mom in the loudspeaker. Mr. Michael spoke, "I am Senior Inspector Michael from the police head office in the city. I am sure you are the mother of Helen Stevens. Aren't you?" "Yes!" she said in a quite excited voice. "Oh! Mam, please visit the head office of police stations of the city. We have your daughter who was kidnaped two years back. She is missing you a lot, please come soon." "We will! We will be there in fifteen minutes. Take care of my daughter please." After ten minutes wait I saw my mom's face and I jumped up and down all over the police station. She sat down after seeing my face and raised her hands for a great big hug. I went to my mom and dad and we went back home, that right moment. I cannot tell you how were my feelings that time. My heart was thumping up and down as life was taking a new turn. After one week of joy and happiness with my parents, I remembered something, a really important work. I didn't thank Caroline who had shown such kindness to me and never been harsh to me even if I did. I was feeling like to slap myself. I forgot such a loving friend. Then I hurried off to my dad. I said, "Dad, I need you. I want to visit Caroline. I didn't thank her for all her kindness. She was the one to be friends with a beggar. I want to thank her. I know, she will not mind it. Come on!" My dad agreed and we rushed off to her house. There, when I entered the house, her mom was crying with her frock in her hand and her dad was sitting silent. I asked her mom, "Aunty, where is Caroline?" She replied, "This was her last week darling. She had blood cancer. She died three days before. She told me to say 'you're welcome' to you when you come here." The moment she said that, I fell off in my father's hands because my dad was standing behind me. I had fainted. Then I opened my eyes in the hospital. I told everything to my mom. She said that I should pray for her to get heaven, it was the only thing I could do. After this time period ended in my life, I learnt two things, one that time doesn't waits for us, the second that every person has a secret behind him and we should thank people for their kindness to us. If we miss this time to thank our friend we can even lose the time to that God's Gift.
