The element of surprise.

Something Elliot seemed to live for, especially when it came to me. From walking up to me during that festival near the bar, then showing up at my door step this morning, and don't even get me started on how he's now suddenly going to my school.

He's like this big fly you can't get rid of, no matter how many times you slam a magazine on it. It just won't get the message that it's

not

wanted.

Sighing, I fix the strap of school bag on my arm, as I walk towards the school that held all the horrible memories I was going to make today.

Usually on the first day of school people leave half day to go down near the beach and have a party.

Most people go home first, get dressed and then make their way down, but the party doesn't start till around five o clock and ends around one in the morning. So they all take their sweet time.

My friends try to drag me down every year since we were freshman but I always had to work that day.

And choosing between a night of drinking beer alone in corner or working at a job were rich men and their trophy wife's come to dine while tipping you way to much then average.

I think all take the large sum of money

Walking through the halls of the place I call school, I see my usual friends waiting for me by my locker. Jasmine waved as she gestured for me to hurry up, I groan before doing a slight jog towards them.

"Hey, how come your so late?" Jasmine asked once I reached the group.

Jasmine, oh how do I describe Jasmine.

Jasmine has been my friend since birth. My dad and her mom Selina, were best friends since high-school. While my mom and her didn't usually see eye to eye, they seemed to have gotten over it.

She was part Asian and part Italian. Her mom being Italian and her dad being Asian, yet you could tell she got more of the Asian genes in her. Anyways, since then me and her have been by each other side and have gotten closer since then.

Next was Aliyah, Aliyah was like the exact opposite of her mother Taylor, another one of my moms friends since elementary. She was quiet and was really shy around people she doesn't know, but once you get to know her. She's actually really loud and corky, just doesn't come off like that at first sight.

And lastly their was April, oh dear old April. She was the exact same as her mother when she went to college, except she just started a couple years early in high-school.

Her moms name was Bernice and was another one of my dads close friend in high-school. However, April was always alone; with her mom barely visiting and her having a whole expensive pent house to herself, April has climbed to social latter with her exclusive parties and being voted school-president every year.

"I'm not late, and if anything I'm right on time" I said grinning as I moved them aside to reach into my locker for my books this period.

"Ugh, my stupid phone isn't working again" Aliyah complained as she it hit against the locker for it to turn on.
