He was not only the child of both Selina and Justin, but also Jasmines brother. Are little elementary feelings for each other started towards the ending of my freshman year. I however, had always felt something towards him. Yet the feelings on my side and also his, seemed to have grown and progressed as we hung out more and spent late nights talking.
Either way, Elijah and I had dated for about two years, well until I just wasn't feeling it anymore. Suddenly the connection and spark of feelings when he touched my hand, didn't seem to feel like it use to.
It was at the graduation party, and I just couldn't take it. So I took him into a room and broke it down for him, how I was feeling and what has been going on in my mind for the past couple of months. At first he didn't say anything, and then he started to cry.
I felt so bad, that I stayed the night with him and just laid their with him for comfort. Although in the morning, I had woke up before him and left him with a note of..
'I'm sorry'
I haven't talked to him since, and with just a simple turn of the back. I would be seeing the face of a boy I used to love. Sighing, I plastered a smile on my face before turning on the heel of my shoe.
Coming face to face with Elijah himself, River his best friend and of course as I had already predicted, Elliot.
Even though the look on Elliot's stupid face was what would of caught my attention. I couldn't help but feel a little shy and embarrassed in front of Elijah. I mean, I left him to himself that morning and haven't talked since.
"So what do we have here?" April said smiling devilish as she walks slowly and temptingly towards Elliot.
Elliot just chuckles as he runs his hands through his hair, letting April check him out freely "Well don't let me stop you from letting your eyes enjoy a master piece of work" He said confidently as his eyes stayed on me the whole time.
Avoiding his eye contact, I turn to look at Elijah; And to no surprise he's looking at me too, his eyes have this sort of twinkle to them as they looked to be seeing right through me. "Hey, how was your summer?" I asked, trying to make things less awkward.
Everyone was having their own private conversation, River and Aliyah. Elliot and April and also Jasmine just on her phone: yet we all know she's ease dropping on Elijah and I's conversation.
He flashed me a smile of his pearly white teeth, his hands crossed over his chest. Making his defined football muscles under that white v-neck, very clear. "I guess, it was alright. How was yours?" He said changing the topic from off of him and onto me.
"It was pretty subtle, nothing to exciting. You know me, always about staying home and reading. The boring life is what they call it" I chuckled as the awkward tension was very clear.
His face turned serious, at what I said. "What? No, your reading is something you enjoy and remember when you made me read one chapter of that Harry Potter book to you" He chuckled as he thought of the memory.
I laughed too, as I remember him wanting to read it with me "Yeah we sat on your porch and the read about three chapters together" I sighed thinking about the memory.
He had sat on that little white wooden swing bench set, while I laid down with my feet rested on him. He rubbed my feet with lotion and read the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth chapter of the Harry Potter book series.
"Ahh the good old days" he softly smiled, showing off those dimples that he had near his lips on the right side of his cheek.
The next I know we're holding hands and he's looking deep into my eyes.
Seeing how this might turn out, I clear my throat intentionally as I gently take my hand out his. He looks hurt at first but covers it up with a pathetic smile of 'I'm okay'
"Hey Guys, we should get going to our classes, the bells about to ring any minute. And I'm not trying to be late to class on the first day" Aliyah said.
Waving off to everyone, I started to make my way to class alone. Seeing as I was the only person who took all classes Ap. Aliyah had some classes in Ap level but English wasn't one of them.
Hugging my books closer to my chest, I make my way down the hallways, pushing past anyone who blocked my way and ignoring the loud laughter and conversation.
Just as I'm about to reach my class, I feel a tap on my shoulder "Hey, would you wait up. For a girl, you walk really fast" Elliot said breathlessly as he stopped me from entering class.
I rolled my eyes as I glare at him "What are you doing, the locally developed class is on the completely opposite side of the building. So run off" I said gesturing to behind him.
He laughed with no humour in his voice as his face tune serious "I'm so hurt princess, but I'm actually taking all Ap classes" He said proudly
I was so shocked I didn't say anything, I mean this meant all be seeing Elliot's face all day everyday. With my mom obsessed with him, my friends already taking a huge liking to him; Especially April and him now being in all my classes.
I'll never get rid of this guy.
"Cat caught your tongue, Nessa" He smirked as he leant in closer.
I rolled my eyes as I push him off by his shoulders, leaving him behind as I walk into class already knowing that this year was going to be the worst.
| The end of the chapter |
I know it's short, but I updated way more earlier then I regularly do, so hopefully this Friday might have around two thousand words. Instead of 1027 like this chapter does.
Anyways, in this chapter your learn a little more on Vanessa and Elijah back story of when they used to date and what stopped them. However, that's only the basic facts. It's not the full story.....
Also I've decided to change the ages of Vanessa and her friends, so their now seniors too. Cause it makes sense with the boys being seniors, and them also being one to. So yeah...
See you in the next chapter...
