"He was shot." The lady said.
"Where!?" I asked terrified.
"He was shot in the shoulder and stomach. We're so lucky that the shooter had a bad aim." The lady replied.
"Shooter?! What happened?!" I asked.
"Someone broke in while Mr. Ro'Maeve and a few were cleaning up. The man started shooting and Mr. Ro'Maeve got hit in the arm. Mr. Ro'Maeve helped the others out of the building and then got hit again but in the stomach. Everyone got out and someone called the police. A man by the name of Travis Valkrum brought Mr. Ro'Maeve to this hospital." The woman explained.
"Is he allowing visitors?" I asked.
"Yes." The woman replied and I quickly thanked her and ran out the door. I ran to the hospital and saw Travis just outside the waiting room. I ran to him and hugged him tightly afraid for Zane.
"Woah Y/N, are you okay?" He asked hugging me tightly anyway.
"N-No..." I replied between sobs.
"Zane's going to be okay Y/N. He's awake right now if you want to see him." Travis told me. I nodded and sniffed rubbing my eyes.
"Where's his room? Have you told the others?" I asked Travis.
"I'll show you to his room, but I haven't told the others yet. I'll let them know when we get to his room. The nurses decided to keep Zane here over night." Travis told me as we started walking.
As we entered Zane's room I walked to his side tears clouding my eyes.
"Zane?" I whispered sitting next to his bed. I heard the door close and Travis step out.
"Y/N?" He looked at me.
"You scared me so badly!" I told him hugging him loosely so I wouldn't hurt him.
"I'm sorry I scared you." He said. I felt his warm breath on my cheek. I pulled back from my hug.
"Did you see who the shooter was?" I asked.
"Yes, I didn't recognize him though." Zane replied with a small cough. I stared at his mask-less face.
"The cops got him though?"
"Yeah..." He replied. A tear rolled down my face.
"Hey... Don't cry Y/N, I'm okay." He said wiping the tear from my cheek.
"B-but you were shot Zane. How can I not worry?" I asked him.
"The place I work is extremely safe. Today was one of those .001% days that something bad would happen." He replied. I sniffled in reply.
"Hey.... Come here" He told me softly. I came closer to him still sniffling a bit. Zane kissed my cheek sitting up a bit. My cheeks flamed. I heard Zane quietly wince as he sat up.
"You shouldn't sit up if it hurts you Zane..." I told him. Just then I heard a voice.
"ZuZu?" I heard his mom call. My cheeks were a brighter pink and I backed away. Zane was leaning on one shoulder but Zianna helped him lay down again. I saw Aphmau standing at the doorway with Garroth, Laurance, and Vylad. I knew why Garroth and Vylad were here but Laurance? I thought Zane and Laurance hated each other. Maybe he's here for Garroth's sake. Zane's baby blue eye looked at his mother in a soft expression.
"How do you feel ZuZu? Are you hurting badly?" Zianna asked. I stood up to let Zianna have the chair.
"I'll let you guys be alone for a bit. Want me to send in Garroth and Vylad?" I asked and Zianna nodded. I walked out and told Garroth and Vylad that they should go to see their brother.
"Hey Y/N. How are you doing?" Laurance asked me.
"I'm okay. I'm worried about Zane. He's acting all tough but I can see that he's in pain." I told Laurance.
"Garroth was almost in tears when Travis told him. He's such a worrier and Zane just brushes it off. You never know when you'll be alone." Laurance said.
"I understand Laurance. I had an older brother who worried a lot about me like Garroth does Zane... I never appreciated it as much as I do now. I should've thanked him for worrying, but I was always annoyed by it. Now... He's gone. He died in a car accident that killed my mother." I blurted.
"I never knew, I'm so sorry Y/N." Laurance said and pulled me in a hug.
"It's okay...." I sniffed. Tears will spilling down my cheeks onto Laurance's brown jacket.
"Zane will be fine Y/N, I know it. Zane's lucky he's got someone like you..." Laurance whispered the last part to himself.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing... Do you want to go get everyone a soda?" Laurance asked.
"I'll come with you two. Not enough hands to carry all those drinks." Aaron said. I jumped at his silent approach.
"A-Aaron! Jeez, you scared me." I told Aaron.
"Let's go then..." Laurance replied and I pulled away from him so we could walk. I dried my eyes and followed the boys to the vending machine.
"What do you think they'll want?" Aaron asked.
"Well maybe we should get Pepsi for them." Laurance suggested. We nodded and got the soda. We walked back to see Aphmau, Garroth, and Vylad all outside by the door.
"Where's Zianna?" Laurance asked.
"She's with Zane. She wanted to be alone with him for a bit." Vylad explained. Garroth looked really worried and seemed as if he was about to cry. Laurance saw Garroth and offered him a soda, which Garroth took sniffling a little.
"Hey, it's okay Garroth. Zane will be okay." Laurance told Garroth soothingly.
"B-but he's my baby brother! I should've been there." Garroth replied, a few tears streaming down his face.
"Garroth, Zane is fine. We should count ourselves lucky that Travis was there to let us know." Vylad said calmly. Garroth sniffed in a reply.
"Garroth, do you want to go home?" Laurance asked. Garroth replied with a nod.
"I'll be heading home too." Aaron said and Aphmau followed. It was just Vylad, Zianna, Travis, and me. I looked at the door waiting for Zianna.
"You're holding up really well Y/N." Vylad said to me.
"I could say the same to you Vylad. How are you so calm?" I asked.
"Zane is strong, I know that. He'll be okay in a few days or so." Vylad replied. Just then, the door opened and Zianna walked out of the room.
"ZuZu is resting, we should go home." She said.
"See you later Y/N." Travis and Vylad said waving as they walked out. I looked at Zane sleeping as I walked in his room. I sat down in the chair by his side and held his hand. I watched his chest rise and fall in a deep sleep, a yawn coming from me.
TIMESKIP TO A FEW HOURS LATER, AT 2AM.
ZANE'S POV:
I woke up after a few hours, I assume. I saw Y/N asleep by me. Y/N didn't go home? I smiled seeing Y/N fast asleep. I brushed a few strands of hair out Y/N's face. I laid back down before falling asleep again.

Hey my little kittens! This chapter was kinda hard for me to write and that's why it took so long to get out. I apologize for that. I hope you enjoyed my posting spree on Friday and Saturday with the Aarmau, that book is the easiest one to write at the moment and OMI Partners in Crime just started playing XD. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed and I'm sorry if this was emotional for you, this is the second book I've ever written that actually caused me to not be able to write it because it was emotional. The other one, I was actually crying while writing it. Okay, I think I'm done writing this ending XD. Hope you enjoy this 1,000 word chapter, what is it with me and 1,000+ words on these chapters lately? XDDD I'll see you in the next chapter, bye bye my little kittens~.
