I wasn't asleep, I was trying to,but then the little boy next to me that was trying to flirt with Ximena kept getting on my nerves.
Hearing them talk about school made me think of the time when I didn't have any problems, but then I dropped out of high school to help out my family with Ethan's hospital bills. I miss being a teenager.
I move around trying to find my way to Ximena's shoulder, I dont want them to think I'm awake so I keep my eyes shut. Once I my head hits Ximena's shoulder I feel her eyes stare at me for a second and she looks back at the boy.
"So, umm his he your uhh boyfriend?" I hear his voice awkwardly waiting for the right answer.
Ximena lightly laughs which made me confused, is it that hard for her to see us together, it's not for me.
"No, he's not" my heart sinks into my stomach, I don't know why that surprised me so much, its not like it wasn't true.
"Oh,okay" even with my eyes shut I could tell he was happy about her answer.
I felt Ximena's head rest on the top of my head, I don't know if it was her but I suddenly wasn't mad anymore.

I woke up to the bus stopping,I looked out the window and saw that we were at a rest stop. I noticed Ximena was still sleeping, her hand was propped up supporting her head.
I get off the bus to use the bathroom, I start walking towards the restroom sign. The bathroom door was opened so I let myself in, I probably should have knocked when I think about it now.
I opened the door to see a guy in there, I would have closed the door and left but he wasn't using the bathroom, he was leaning over the sink playing with a bag of white powder. I obviously knew that it wasn't just powder.
"Oh um sorry man" He didn't notice I was here at first, but now he for sure heard me.
Before I fully closed the door the guy quickly turned around, I got a good look at his face I was shocked at who I saw.
"Caiden? What the hell are you doing here?" I knew there was a Caiden on our bus, but I didn't think it was the Caiden I used to box with.
"Oh Hey, Gray how have you been?" I remember that cheeky bastard smirk he always had.
"You're back on coke, I see" I say this while eyeing the small bag.
"Mhm, wanna do a line with me, bring back some good memories" Caiden says shaking the bag in front of my eyes.
I turn my head away from his hands looking at the dirty floor.
"you know I quit a long time ago, did you come here to stir up some drama again?" There was enough drama in Ximena's life, I really didn't need this adding to the list.
"Oooh, are you thinking about that pretty girl on the bus?" He smiles, opening the bag of powder and sticking his pinky in for a taste.
My mouth is dry and my throat hurts, just because I quit doesn't mean I don't want to go back to it. Just sink back into the daze. While I was on my bender I felt better about everything, but then when it wore off I went back to being miserable, That's why I never tried to quit, but I'm clean now and I'm not going back.
"She is something, do you think she believed me about the whole school thing? Hmm, it was real easy finding her school, just imagine what else others could find" I clench my fists and punch him square in the jaw.
"Don't ever try and threaten me or Ximena again" My heart is beating and I'm shaking, this happens all the time, I usually know how to control it, but it was too strong this time.
Caiden spits out blood from his mouth before trying to speak.
"Your temper always did get the best of you Gray" Caiden was always the only one to actually be able to get under my skin, no wonder I was so mad on the bus.
I comb my hands through my hair and brush off my clothes before exiting the bathrooms and going to the bus. Through the whole mess I completely forgot I had to pee. Fuck.
