Okay, so this is something you've all been hearing a lot about lately I would assume. Well here I am to rant about it.

Eat. Sleep. Study.
Repeat.
The life of a teenager, right? Pretty much. Here's what we do, we study study study just to get a good grade. No one cares about if we're learning or not, as long as we pass the test. We just memorize things, only to forget them days later. One night is spent cramming for a test. Then rolls along the exam at the end of the semester and you've forgotten everything. Why? Because no one is really teaching us any skills or strategies. They're just giving us material to memorize and pass a test.
Solve for x.
Did anyone ever consider that maybe, just maybe, life isn't that simple? A few steps and bam, there's your solution. Maybe not. There are many scenerios in life where the answer isn't so obvious.
Maybe instead of stressing so hard on Algebra and Biology teachers could teach us things about life that may actually be useful to our lives after high school is over. There are so many people in the world that'll tell you that they use absolutely nothing they learned in high school at work. Because they teach us things that are so 'advanced' we don't need them. Some things are just a complete waste of time.
Why do we need to know all about every single religion in the world? Why do I care who did what in China 10,000 years ago? What does any of it matter? Sometimes I think people just make up random things for us to learn because they need something to teach us.
Here, memorize the periodic table because one day when you're 90 years old lying on your death bed, the doctors are going to ask you to name all of the elements and their families. So be prepared because in the end ALL of this work now will matter in the long run.
Not.
More like.. Here memorize this if you want to pass the 10th grade. I've been in school for 6 months and I can't tell you anything that I'll use in life.
Learning Spanish freshman year will get you nowhere. You'll graduate 4 years later and the only thing you'll know how to say is 'Hola. Como estas.' Really? That's all you can teach us?
I don't hate school. Yeah, it's where you make friends and go to homecoming and football games. But is that the purpose of school? No, I don't think so. And yet, that's what we find ourselves going to school for. Not to learn, because we really aren't.
So good luck with school kiddies.
