Chapter 5: Ball

Chapter 5:

While driving, the guys turned on the radio and turned it up. When we got there it was crowded. I drove us to the front. We got out and I gave the keys to a valet. "So this is a masked ball. So try and keep your masks on." I said with a smile. "Now you guys go and enjoy. I have some business to attend to." I said and headed into the crowd. David grabbed my arm suddenly. "Can I come with you?" He asks. I think about it and nod.

He follows me to a conference room. "You cant say anything. If they realise your here I'll get in big trouble." I whispered to him. He nods, but I couldnt see his expression with his mask on.

We sat down at the table. "Ok, now that we're all here we can begin. Princess." A man at the other end of the table announced. I stood up. "You asked for me to come, so please tell me the importence of this meeting." I said to the man. I notice David trying to understand everything. He looked at me annoyed. "There has been some activity among the the magic world. This magic feels like yours, but we all know you have no magic." He said with a smirk. I suddenly wiped that smirk off his face. I thought how I wanted my glass to hit him and it happened except it grazed his face. Everyone was not scared. "Is there more to be said?" I asked. Everyone was silent. "No, then this meeting is dismissed." I announced and grabbed David's arm, then walked out the door.

Half-way back to the ball room, I stopped and let go of Davids arm. "Is everything alright?" He asked, walking in front of me. "Yeah, just fine." I say in a low voice. I turn and look at him. He lifts my mask and sees me crying. He wipes away my tears. I look up at his eye through the mask. I lift his mask to look at his face. He leans down and gentally pressed his lips to mine. I tenced up at first, but then relaxed and kissed him back. He lightly rapped his arms around my waist. I rapped my arms around his neck. The kiss became deeper and deeper, he slide his tongue into my mouth.

Someone cleared there throat and we turned our heads to see a lady that seemed familiar. "Gem, what are you doing?!" The lady yelled. I look at her thinking how familiar she seemed. "Lena?" I asked. "Yes and what are you doing back here with this guy?" She asked angrily. "I was coming from the meeting with David and um..." I tryed to think about what we were doing. "Never mind, just be glad I'm the one to catch you two and not the master Kent." She sighed. I nod, while putting on my mask and started down the hall. David put his mask back on too and followed me.

When we got back to the ball room, everyone was dancing. David gabbed my hand and bowed. "May I have this dance?" He asked. I blushed and nodded. He lead me to the middle of the dance floor. He put his hand on my waist, as I placed my hand on his shoulder. We started to dance. A minute or two later everyone had stopped to watch us. David leaned down nere my ear. "Want to stop for a while?" He whispered in my ear. "Sure." I whisper.

We made our way off the dance floor and everyone started dancing again. A few people were standing around talking about stuff. They seem to quite as we walked by. I could of swarn they were talking about us by how quite they got. I giggled. David looked at me, then at some chairs at the head of the room.

I sighed and leaned a little on David. "Is everything alright, Princess?" Someone asked from behind us. We both turned to find master Kent. "No, nothings wrong. I'm just a little tired." I said with a little smile. "Then you should come and sit down on your thrown." He says. I nodded and start to follow him, pulling David along.

We kinda had to zig-zag through the crowd. I tripped three times, on the third trip, David picked me up and carryed me to the thrown. He set me down gentaly on the thrown, then back up a little and was next to the thrown. Kent look at me a little confussed. "Is he your guard?" He asked, staring at David. "Kinda." I answered. I felt eyes watching me.

I found masks looking at me. All of them. I sat up and looked at them. A shiver went down my spine.

Kent made a sweep like motion to the crowd. They all went back to dancing. "I think I should head home, master Kent, I'm very exhasted." I say quitly to Kent. He nods. "I understand princess." He smiles then gentaly grabs my hand and kisses it.

I blush a little bit, then stood up. David gives me his hand for support. We walk over to the door and found Danil, Casey and Austin waiting. "Ready to go?" I ask with a smile. They nod. We all went out to the car, but David took the keys from me. "Your not in the right state to drive." He said, then had Austin and Danil sit im back with me, while Casey sat up front with David. The trip back home was silent.
