"I'm gonna go on ahead and leave. I'm a bit tired." He said, swiftly standing up from our spot.
"Alright, goodnight babe." I replied, my mind too tired to realize my mistake.
He stopped in his tracks and turned around to look at me. "What?" he asked.
"Oh! Oh no! I didn't mean to say that! I'm just tired and I'm so used to saying that to you... it's just difficult not to anymore.. I'm sorry! I really didn't mean to..." I rambled on.
"Why are you panicking so much and making such a big deal out of it?"
"I'm sorry... I just... We're supposed to be just friends since we broke up... but it's difficult... especially when we both still love each other and still flirt a bit... and I just didn't mean to say it... It slipped out." I looked down at the grass that I was sitting on.
"You already do plenty that friends don't do. Stuff far worse than calling me babe." He laughed out.
"Well I'm working on stopping. It's probably very bothersome for me to be doing these things... and it might persuade you to do stuff. So, I'll stop." I replied firmly, in a soft tone.
"Might persuade me to do stuff?"
"Yes! These things could persuade you to like me or something."
"I already like you?" He looked at me questioningly.
"Then it might persuade you to love me!" I replied in a slightly annoyed tone.
"I already love you."
"Well, it might persuade you to love me as more than a friend."
"I do love you as more than a friend... that and I don't love my friends." He chuckled.
"It might persuade you to love me as something more than a best friend!" I replied loudly, a small embarrassed blush forming on my face.
He shook his head and stood up from where we were both seated. He kneeled down onto his knees and took my hands in his.
"You know exactly what i mean by 'I love you'. Stop moving it along with all this friends bullshit." He spoke firmly.
"So you just love me for the pictures then?" My mind instantly remembering what I had sent him earlier that day.
His lips pressed into a thin line as he let out a frustrated sigh.
"Do you want me to delete them or what?" He asked in an annoyance filed tone.
"No. You can keep them. They're yours and you can use them however you'd like." I spoke softly.
"I know theyre mine. I intend to keep them." He replied calmly.
"Just don't let them persuade you to... you know... love me or anything like that." I said quickly.
"No persuading will be done."
"Are you sure?" I asked.
"I'm positive. But... I can tell you now... I already love you. And there's nothing that can change that." He smiled at me.
I blushed and hid my face in my hands.
"Come here." He extended his hand down towards me and motioned for me to stand up.
I placed my hand in his and he pulled me up and into a hug.
"I love you too..." I replied softly.
He kissed my forehead before resting his chin on top of my head. "I know you do babe... I know you do."
