As our son's second birthday came around J.B and I were both busy with the PBR event coming up. We both asked his mom to watch R.J several times while we were getting ready. I had several new ones I had to enter into the system to be ridden.
Then clean the trailer, truck and pack for the event. J.B had to go do some paperwork leaving me to do everything. I finished the truck and trailer as the new handlers showed up. I told them the date when the bulls had to be there and had a blue strip of duck tape on the pens of the ones that had to be there.
They nodded and got to work. It's Albuquerque weekend and I had to be there before the bulls. I finished packing the luggage and went to pick up R.J. J.B had beat me to it. "Hey the flight leaves in an hour do you wanna go ahead and go or wait until closer to the event?" I asked him.
"We can go ahead and go. Is everything ready for it?" He asked. I nodded. "Alrighty mom we'll be back sometime Monday and ready for the next round the next weekend." He said. We walked out to the truck and got in. Leaving his here.
At the airport we went through bag check and security before we were allowed to board the flight. We sat down next to each other and kept our child between us. He had a toy car running it across J.B's arm, the arm rest and dinner tray.
I couldn't believe how calm he was when R.J would roll it across his arm over and over again. I found it amusing even when he ran the car down his dad's leg.
J.B looked over at me. "He's your son." He told me. "Your the one who gave me him." I counted. He sighed and looked down. "Could he not run it over that general area?" He asked.
"Just wait he won't remember a thing he did when he was this age unless you remind him he did it." I said trying not to laugh. "It's my property." He said. "But it's what helped make him." I said looking out the window. It was too funny to do anything about.
He's never had a son to deal with only a daughter. I had two little brothers and I know what to do with little boys. He groaned. "Chesney. Please?" J.B begged. "He's just being a little boy." I told him picking R.J up setting him in my lap.
He ran the toy car over my legs and arms then chest. "You've got to outsmart the toddler before the toddler outsmarts you." I said. He looked at me oddly. "I grew up with twin brothers I know how little boys act. You can even ask your mother for advice if you don't believe me."
After landing I held R.J while J.B grabbed our bags. I carried R.J's while he carried our duffle. Sunday is our little boy's birthday. He was asleep against my shoulder as we walked out. J.B got a rental car to drive while we were here.
Maybe Sunday I can take him to find some fun toys and some clothes and his first pair of big boy boots. He will even be able to pick out the color he wants. We went to the hotel first then out to eat.
"So any plans already for Sunday?" J.B asked. "Taking R.J to get his first pair of big boy boots." I said. "I've got a signing at boot barn that afternoon." He said. "Da da." We both looked at R.J he's been saying da da since two months ago.
"He's your son." I said. "Your the one that knows him best." He shot back. "Ma ma." He's been saying that since he was one and a half. "Or we could go and get them before the event starts." I said. "Sounds good to me. Then you can shop more on Sunday." J.B said.
After eating we went out looking around. J.B held R.J as we strolled out to the parking lot. He then pointed at something. I looked seeing someone leaned against a truck. "Nice to see the family this weekend."
Oh J.B has waited almost two years to hit this guy. He handed R.J over to me before we continued to walk. As we got closer I could tell J.B was tensing. I wasn't going to even calm him down.
As we were passing by him he tried to touch me . Instead he was hit into the truck and knocked to the ground. "That's for messing with my wife. You try to even touch or mess with her again I will put you in prison or six feet under even if I have to go to jail for it." J.B told him. He got up and tried to swing back.
J.B knocked him flat on his butt again. "Only cowards hurt women and children into getting what they want." He told Jared before leading us away.
