The wedding is coming faster then I planned. I still have a million and one things to do before then and with every week my belly keeps getting bigger. I've gained so much weight and I'm only five months in. Ian says you can't tell, but I've officially given up open toed shoes and I don't fit in my engagement ring anymore. While I panic over every detail of the wedding, Ian sits back and is cool about the entire thing. I don't think he understands that we only have five days before the 20th. I still don't have a dress or shoes yet. We decided to have a small wedding at this beautiful country club up in the mountains. I, of course, will have pink roses because they remind me of my late grandma who always had pink and white roses in her house. The club will be providing the food, and Ian paid extra for the chef to serve me whatever I am craving that day. It's hard to know exactly what the baby wants because I have to smell the food before I can decide if I can eat it or not.
"Baby, the moms are here," Ian jokes.
"Oh I'm already hating this."
"Hey it won't be that bad. My mom and yours get along so great, and today is about you getting your wedding dress. May I suggest something easy to rip with extra clevage?"
"No you can't suggest it, but I will consider it," I joke back.
"Honey!" Our moms say in unison.
"Hi mom," Ian and I then say at the exact same moment. We hug our moms, then hug the other's.
"Shall we go?" My mom asks.
"Yes I'm so excited!" Ian's mom responds.
"Have fun ladies," Ian says.
"I seriously doubt it," I whisper as I reach up to kiss Ian.
"Okay enough of that you can do that the rest of your lives, now let's go. Bye honey, and oh Ian I brought you lunch just in case."
"Thanks mom you shouldn't have," Ian responds as he kisses his mom on the cheek goodbye.
We get to the dress shop where the workers are more than ecstatic to help us. I think I tried on a hundred dresses before I found the one. A beautiful princess cut wedding dress with a darker lavender sash across the belt and just enough clevage for Ian to appreciate without looking to slutty.
"Oh I've never seen you look so beautiful," my mom says.
"Absolutely stunning!"
"Are you sure it doesn't look too tight?"
"No dear it's perfect. I can't believe my son is marrying such a goddess."
"Thank you so much," I reply as tears fill my eyes.
"Oh honey don't cry, this is a happy occasion."
"I know, but when I feel something it's hytined with the hormons." We buy the dress and find the perfect shoes. My mom promises to hold on to them until the wedding day. She leaves with it for safe keeping, so Ian's mom and I return home.
"Baby we're home," I shout.
"Oh there are my favorite girls. How'd it go."
"Well I can't tell you much, but son you're marrying an absolute goddess."
"Awe thank you Edna," I say as I hug her.
"That's what I like to see, my to girls getting along so great. So where's your mom?"
"She took the shoes and dress for safe keeping."
"Well I'll leave you two alone. I have to go out with your father for date night."
"Have fun mom."
"Thanks sweetie," she says hugging him goodbye.
"Oh Edna thank you for coming with me today."
"My pleasure honey. Now have a goodnight you two." When she finally leaves Ian and I head to the couch.
"We're finally done planning the wedding."
"We?"
"Okay you're finally done planning the wedding."
"That sounds about right," I say as I nudge him.
"I have a surprise for you."
"What is it?"
"This," Ian hands me two tickets to Spain.
"What's this?"
"This is our honeymoon."
"Oh Ian, I thought we decided not to go on a honeymoon."
"We did, but it's only for a week, then we can come back and finish getting ready for the move and the baby."
"Oh Ian, this is perfect."
"I thought you should have a proper wedding and honeymoon even if you are pregnant." I stare deeply into his eyes, then I pull up for a kiss. He stands me up, and we slowly make our way to the bedroom.
