... I can't even with myself. This is like the shortest prologue of all history. But, people have been asking where in the world I've been... and... yeah, I don't have the best answer for that. xD

But this is gonna be a dystopia-ish, Zelink AU???

DESCRIPTION CURRENTLY IN PROGRESS

Thanks to ImberLapis for the lovely cover up above :)))

So..... Please, like always, read/follow/comment/vote cuz I'm a tired person, lol.

The little girl wipes her eyes tearfully, hiding her small form behind her mother and smearing more dirt across her small face. "Mama, I don't understand!"

The older woman looks down at her daughter grimly before pushing her farther behind her. "Zelda, listen to me - We'll be fine. Your father will be here shortly, and then we have to go."

"Go?" the little girl questions. "Where are we going, Mama?"

A sigh escapes the lips of the mother, and she picks up her small daughter, placing her on her hip. "Zelda..." her voice trails off, and she leaves her daughter's inquiry unanswered. The slight crunching of decaying leaves and a three-note whistle alert her of her husband's presence, yet she grips her small knife readily, just in case. "Hugh, is everything ready?"

Hugh Hark scoops his daughter in his arms before nodding at his wife, "We should leave now - I can only pray that we're not being watched now - I wish we'd left much sooner."

Zelda's mother, Lily Hark, releases a shaky breath before locking eyes with her husband, "We'll make do, Hugh; we'll be okay." She eyes their small cottage before brushing a tear away.

"Then let's head out now," Hugh says, offering his wife a small smile.

The Hark family is now forsaking everything they once knew to leave for something that will hopefully be better - a place safe from Ganondorf Dragmire, his lust for land, and his bloodied, murderous sword.

With Zelda cradled in his arms, Hugh steps toward the two saddled horses he's prepared. He'd had to bargain much for those two horses, but they'll be worth it - Those two horses will provide their way of escape, their freedom. Setting Zelda on the ground for a few moments, he assists his wife in mounting one of the horses before picking up their daughter and situating her in front of Lily. Then, he's able to leap atop his own horse before snapping his reins.

Lily is more reluctant to begin riding, glancing back at their little cozy house one last time. Then, like Hugh, she snaps her reins and rides after him.

They leave behind the little village that's been their home for seven years; the neat rows of cottages that make up the village are consumed by vicious flames, yet they don't look back.

They keep moving forward.
