Chapter Seven Bloody Rose

You immediately pushed the gun out of Zero's grasp before he pulled the trigger. You heard the gun fall on the floor as you fell on top of his body. You felt your body shaking and you didn't hesitate to sob in his chest.

"(Your name)"

"Why?! Why would you try and kill yourself!?" You cried out.

"I hate what I have become and that gun is the only weapon that can kill vampires... It's my only escape out of this reality," he explained harshly.

You looked up at him and he has sorrow in his eyes. You know he's in pain. He is cursed and being a vampire is something he never wanted to be but there has to be a way for you to help him...

"I know you are cursed and I know you hate being a vampire but I like you a lot and I don't want you to leave this world... I don't want you to leave me behind," you confessed.

Zero's eyes widened but he ran his fingers through your hair. You began to sob again... If you didn't stop him in time then he would've been dead...

"Please, don't leave me!" You pleaded.

"I won't... I'm sorry," he muttered.

"Don't..."

"I won't... It's okay, I'm here..."

You looked up at him and he is looking at you in awe. You then pressed your lips against his and he immediately accepted your kiss. You wrapped your arms around his neck to deepen the kiss and he granted your wish.

You then pulled away and you both couldn't stop staring at each other.

Zero wrapped his arms around you so that your body stays pressed against his. You then felt a little better as he played with your hair but something caught your eye from across the room.

You see a small table with a single red rose inside a glass case. What is strange is that the petals are falling off of the rose...

"What's that?" You asked, pointing at the rose.

"Nothing."

"Zero..."

"It's just a stupid rose," he sighed.

"But why are the petals falling off?"

Zero didn't answer you but you saw sorrow in his eyes again. Does that rose have something to do with his curse?
