"so, you and isa?" ian questioned, watching isa walk out the door.

"what about us?" joji replied dryly.

"you two were all over each other in the pool, didn't you guys hate each other like two minutes ago?"

"i guess after i kissed her i think something clicked in my brain and now i think i like her." joji shrugged.

"this is an intervention." max spoke in his most sophisticated voice.

"more like an isavention." ian chimed in.

"so what you're saying is the george miller has... feelings?"

"i guess i was so busy not liking her that i didn't get to know the real her, if that makes sense."

"if you're doing this for a meme or some type of sick game, just stop now." max warned.

"if you hurt her i'll fuck you up." ian's scrawny self threatened equally as serious as max.

"isa, hey!"

"the line was really short at taco bell." isa stated, scrunching her face in confusion as all three boys became silent when she entered the room.

"what were tweedle dee and tweedle stupid talking about?" isa questioned, taking a seat on the counter.

"it's tweedle dee and tweedle dum." joji laughed as he corrected her failed attempt at making a movie reference.

"whatever. so do you wanna hang out today?"

"we're all here already." joji scrunched his face in confusion, completely oblivious.

"just us, we can go do something."

"oh." joji became really nervous at the thought of just them hanging out considering they've never done that and he's still unsure of his feelings.

"we can go to the mall, the beach, the park, chipotle, hell, anywhere."

"but in this busy schedule when will i have time to kill myself?" ian questioned, quickly butting in.

"ian, you're gonna sit this one out, bud." joji chuckled, patting a now discouraged ian on the back.

"six flags, maybe?" isa suggested.

"sounds good to me."

[...]

after a short car ride consisting of isa listening to joji sing along to his favorite songs, the two arrived at the fairly large amusement park flooding with small screaming children.

"i wanna ride that." isa stared in awe at the tallest and fastest roller coaster in their state.

although joji would much rather have isa ride something or someone else, he followed along to the lengthy line.

"are you sure you don't want to go do something else?" joji peeped his head over, observing the long line.

"this one looks cool, we should stay."

joji nodded in response.

isa's persistence and determination was one of the many things he admired about her.

many stupid jokes and banter later, the two were next.

"what, are you scared george?" isa nudged joji as he tensed up.

"no, isabella." joji rolled his eyes, taking a seat in the small cart, pulling the safety harness as tight as he could.

in fact joji was not scared, he was terrified. terrified of heights and anything to do with roller coasters. just looking at them typically made him queasy.

as the carts slowly rose up the steep hill, so did joji's anxiety.

"uh, isa, i take that back i think i'm gonna have a heart attack." joji stammered, staring down at what could possibly be his death.

"you'll be fine." isa chuckled, intertwining joji's hand with hers.

holding isa's hand somewhat relaxed him until they were going down the first hill at sixty two miles per hour.

joji's oddly feminine screech rang in isa's ear as she let out a loud and uncontrollable laugh all throughout the short ride.

"joji, you're kind of crushing my hand." isa chuckled as the ride came to a stop.

"oh shit, sorry." joji mumbled, hopping out of the cart.

"where to next?" isa questioned as the two walked side by side to their next destination.

"i have a deal to propose." joji smirked.

"keep talking."

"if i win you a stuffed animal, you have to keep the whole roller coaster screaming thing a secret." joji stated, as they stopped in front of a ring toss booth.

isa contemplated her choices, tell the boys of screaming sally or a cool giant banana with dreads.

"win me the banana, or i'll spill the beans."

joji played that game like his life depended on it, he actually went five for five.

"why don't you want max and ian to know about you being a little girl?" isa questioned, struggling to carry the big banana that's almost the same size as her.

"i have a rep to protect." joji joked, acting tough, when in reality he was a big softie.

[...]

"how was the trip, guys?" max interrogated as soon as isa and joji walked through the door.

"it was fun, the roller coaster was awesome you should've seen joji he-" isa paused, making eye contact with joji, remembering the bet.

"he won me this banana." isa finished.
