"Hey you" Angelyn hollered out,
"Hi Doll Face" I reply, straightening my posture.
Her smile's full,
Like it never leaves.
Always there,
And never gets destroyed.
My face light up
As she latches arms with me.
I put on a friend smiled
Realizing how twitterpated I'm about to get.
"You wanna hear the big news?",
She whispers, standing on her toes to reach my ear.
Getting a big smile,
Nodding my head she proceeds.
"My boyfriend and I broke up last night"
'A boyfriend? Sense when?' I question myself
"What happen?" I ask,
About the mysterious boyfriend.
"He never talks to me and he was rude" she simply said,
"Besides I like someone else"
Feeling my throat dry up,
I force a smile on my lips looking at her.
"Who?" I asked
Forcing the smile to stay.
"Derek" she said grinning,
Nodding my head and looking away so I don't hurt myself even more.
My heart feels like it was acing,
Hurting and slightly breaking.
I'm never going to get this girl to look at me,
The way I look at her.
I don't try to flirt,
It might scare her off.
Make her feel uncomfortable,
And not want to be around me.
But the more I act like a best friend,
The more she only thinks of me like that.
She grabs my hand,
Entwining our fingers.
Glancing back at her,
While a pen doodles on my hand.
Nervously I tighten my grip,
She did the same continuing her drawing.
Putting my eyes to the friends around me,
Their smiles at us was cheeky.
Phones pulled out,
Taking a picture.
My free hand shoos them off,
Trying not to make Angelyn not suspect anything.
She finished
Straightening up to admire her work.
A simple bow next to thumb,
With a small heart underneath.
"I think I want to be a tattoo artist"
She told me, putting the pen away.
"Well then I want you to put this tattoo on me,
In the exact spot" I said, without putting much thought into it.
"It's a deal" she pronounced.
"London and tattoo's in the future" she laughed
"Looks like I going to be living with you in the future"
"I don't mind that" I said, putting a friendly smile on.
Her laugh fills my ears,
Forcing everything else out.
She makes me feel like there's no evil in the world,
That nothing is really out to get me.
Her chocolate eyes glimmer,
As I stare at her.
We both look away,
Feeling the awkwardness it was creating.
The 8:10 bell rang,
Telling us to start heading to class.
She let my hand go picking her stuff up,
Saying her good byes to everyone.
I watch the long hair girl
In her leather jacket leave the room.
I took my hand
Seeing her small design.
The hand the felt the warmth of hers,
That wants to keep a hold of her.
It true that I want to be with her,
But now even more this Derek is in the way.
So should I butt him out and crush her heart,
Or let him in and steal that fragile heart of hers?
