before the kiddos officially meet the cons i decided i wanted them to have a touchy feely moment with each other

as such, this chapter is a bit more mature as it does suggest suicide, abandonment, mental disorder and abuse

*General POV*

"I'm bored." Asta said, watching as Femi paced back and forth in the cage.

"We know." Ember said, rolling her eyes. The purple haired girl groaned, practically hearing an imaginary clock tick in her head.

"If I don't do something I'll-"

"You'll explode. Yes, we know, Asta." Luke interrupted, he was playing with a string on his pants. They all were bored but what would you do if you didn't know how much time has passed.

"My parents are going to be worried sick!" Femi gasped, still pacing. Asta shrugged.

"My parents don't even like me soo..." She said and got up from the floor. Luke snorted and stopped toying with the string on his pant leg.

"I can relate to that. My parents abandoned me when I was three or shit. Haven't seen them since." Luke said bitterly as he turned from the group. Ember rose an eyebrow.

"They...left you?" She asked softly, the rooms' vibe turning serious. Luke gave her a long, meaningful side glance.

"Yeah. At a hospital. At least the bastards were kind enough to do that for me." Luke replied, turning his head back to look out the cage.

It went quiet for a while as everyone began to process everything. Suddenly, Scotia cleared her throat.

"Well, since we're all sharin' our fucked pasts, I'll join. When I was in sixth grade, I was utterly suicidal. Almost committed once." Scotia said, lowering her self to the floor and brushing a lock of brown hair out of her face. Everyone was quiet, all of them taking a seat as well.

"Y'all wanna know how I got my scars?" Asta asked quietly, lowering her gaze. Everyone was quiet, silently urging her to continue.

"Well...I did them to myself. There was this day where everything was going wrong and I was feeling wrong so to try and get rid of the wrong I did this to myself." Asta said, pointing at the deep and shallow scars on her face. She sighed.

"Still haven't figured out what that wrong feeling was though." Asta shrugged, tracing a large, jagged scar that ran along the side of her face. Again, the small cage went silent as each teen thought about one another.

"My parents beat me because they thought my vitiligo was the sign of the Devil." Femi said quickly, wiping away the tear that had fallen out of his eye. Luke reached out his hand, urging Femi to grab it. The African American did such, smiling softly as he and Luke shared a long gaze.

Everyone glanced towards Ember, who had been quiet throughout most of the ordeal. The blonde had a distant, hurting look on her face as unpleasant memories raced into her mind. She suddenly shook her head, as if trying to shake the memories and the stares of the others.

"No. I hardly know any of you, I'm not going to share my goddamn tragedy with you people. We're not friends." Ember said angrily, getting up from her place on the floor and walking to the other end of the cage. She gripped her arms tightly, keeping herself locked in a protective position.

"...Alright. Whatever you say, dude," Asta shrugged, crossing her arms across her chest, "You've got the right to privacy."

"And you're right, we all just met. We're not really friends." Luke finished, attitude changing stoney as he dug around in his pocket, reaching for a box of cigarettes. He popped one out, placing it in his mouth.

"Smokin's bad fer you." Scotia said as Luke lit the cigarette. The blonde haired boy just puffed his cigarette, causing the end to glow orange.

"So what? It's my life." Luke said, hanging the cigarette out the side of his mouth.

No one spoke.

No one moved.

Each teen just stood or sat as they waited for whatever would come.

And come it did.

The group jumped as the doors, which were across from the cage, suddenly opened.

Femi's eyes widened.

Luke dropped his cigarette.

Ember uncrossed her arms.

Scotia said a silent 'what the fuck'.

And Asta giggled.

"Eyyy fam, I know you!" Asta laughed as she scrambled up from her spot on the floor.

"Asta!" Everyone collectively hissed at the purple haired girl. Asta paid no attention to the group.

"Yo who the hecc are y'all? I only know Slenderman here. I think we're friends. Can we be friends?" Asta rambled as she snapped her fingers.

As Femi unconsciously shuffled closed to Luke, the large, silver robot chuckled.

"I believe we should first start with introductions."
