-3 months later- (end of April)
Cecilia's POV:
Lately all I've been doing is cramming for tests, and filling out applications for college. So far I've applied for 5 and haven't heard anything back, hopefully I do. It's hard to believe that in a months time or less I will be graduated from high school, and I'll finally be 18. School today is like any other, stressful, full of tests and preparations, the only thing that is keeping me sane is looking forward to choir.
As I walk down the chaotic hallway to my choir class, Matt's ex best friend Dalton slams me up against a wall. Not this kid again. Ever since I completely turned him down he has made my life a living hell. Every so often he slams me against the wall, laughing about it. He's not allowed back at our house from pushing me down the steps. Nothing was broken, but I was covered in bruises. Matt almost beat him to death, literally. For being a little brother he's very protective of me. He laughs venomously in my face before walking in the other direction to his giggling groupie hoe bags. I'm so fucking glad I won't have to deal with these immature kids anymore once high schools over. I regain my composure and shoot a glare over to Dalton and his skanks.
-insert walking to choir, choir class, and the rest of the school day here-
I walk with Ashly and Blake to the buses, then part our separate ways to our transportation home. I put my headphones in an turn the music up, blocking all the sound around me on the bus of annoying kids laughter and dumb remarks. I get a text from Jack, making my face light up. Ever since he gave me his number we talk quite often, he is starting to become a very good friend.
Jack: Hope school was good!
I don't dare tell him about the Dalton incident, he doesn't need to know about it.
Me: As good as school can get in your senior year
Jack: You'll make it munchkin!:) just let the force be with you. I smile like an idiot and realize my stop is next.
Me: You're such a dork! I text back as I'm walking into the house. Matt has baseball practice today so I won't see him for 2 hours.
Jack: That, I might be, but I'm a cute one at least! So isn't your prom coming up soon? Yeah, he's definitely a dork, and why is he asking about prom? weiiirdd.
Me: Yes you are a cute one ._. Yeah I think it's May 17th, on a Saturday
Jack: Are you going to go? it is your senior year after all.
Me: I don't know yet, I don't have a dateee. It would be so awkward to just show up by myself with no date while everyone else has one.
Jack: Don't stress you'll find one! Maybe if you can't find one I'll go with you. Ya'no, since you'll be legal by then ;)
Well that took an unexpected turn, I did not see that coming. I completely forgot that my birthday is before prom. He's so straight forward about everything, but he's also majority of the time being sarcastic so I don't know if he is joking or not. I mean maybe I could. Are you kidding? why would he want to go to prom with YOU? My conscious is right, why would he want to go to prom with me? I shake it off and continue to text Jack while doing my homework and watching some documentary on Netflix, it's like my life okay. Matt lets me know he's home and goes to take a shower.
"Mom and dad both have a surprise for you." Matt says opening my door, giving me a grin then walking down the hallway to his room. Hm, I wonder what this "surprise" is. I hate Matt, he knows how waiting always gets on my nerves, I'm a very impatient girl.
