Title credit: Of Mice & Men

Jack's POV:

After having an in depth conversation with my family I'm finally able to take Cecilia to the room I'm staying in. I pull off her shoes and hand her one of my shirts. She puts it on then lays down. I pull the comforter over her. I figured I'd give her some space since, well yeah. I kiss her forehead before walking to the door.

"Wait!" She yells, taking me by surprise. She's only talked in a muffled voice, if that. I turn around to see her sitting up in bed, clutching on to the blanket for dear life. "Don't leave me, please." She says quietly. How can I tell her no after what she has been through tonight? I climb in bed beside her, facing away from her. "Thank you Jack." She rolls over and kisses me on the cheek, making my cheeks flush red.

"I would never let anything bad happen to you." I turn around and pull her into a hug. We sit there in a comfortable silence until she speaks up.

"He didn't-uh yeah. You threw him off me before he was able to do anything. The only thing he did was rip off my shirt. He kept going on about all this shit, basically just talking to himself..." I sigh, a wave of relief washes over me. She begins to ramble on and I decide to kiss her cheek to shut her up. She quietly tunes out and nuzzles into my chest and sighs happily, but exhausted. I stiffen up from her movement than relax. After a few minutes I go to talk to her but quiet snores escape her mouth, making me smile.

"Goodnight Cecilia," I kiss her forehead before closing my eyes and drifting off to sleep.

Cecilia's POV:

I wake up and I'm not familiar with my surroundings. I start to freak out until I feel someone's grip increase on me, freaking me out even more. I turn around and see Jack. I sigh in relief, then un-tense my body. Wait, I slept cuddled with Jack last night?! I lose track of time just looking at him as his eyes open slowly.

"Good morning." He says in a sleepy voice, that was actually kinda sexy. "Oh shit!" He looks down at our tangled embrace and untangles us. He sits up and awkwardly scratches at the back of his neck. "Sorry, I didn't mean to cuddle you last night. I-I got carried away." I blush.

"Jack it's okay, you were only comforting me, and I needed it." I smile over at him and he weakly returns it.

"Are you sure you don't want me to come in?" Jack asks as we pull up to my house. I'm already on nerves, I don't know if I want to pull him into this even more.

"Yes. Thanks for taking me home, and saving me last night." I give him a hug and exit the car. As I approach the door I feel a presence behind me, I turn around to see Jack.

"I'm not letting you face this alone." He laces his fingers with mine, making me blush. Why does he want to be there for me? I hope he doesn't pity me, but something about his gesture makes me feel more confident to face what will happen in there. I brace myself before walking into the house.

After what finally seems like hours everything is finally done and over with, I was so tired of repeating myself. The police kept drilling Jack, Matt and I with questions. Everyone successful cried except my dad and Jack who stayed strong for the rest of us. This man, let me tell you. He never left my side, no matter what the police said. He never let our fingers unlace from each other's. At first my parents were skeptical of him and his age, but now they see without him their daughter would be even worse of a wreck.

Everyone goes to their room, leaving Jack and I sitting out on the couch. I cuddle up to his side and watch American Horror Story. It's comforting to know that someone cares enough to stay by my side through this. He could have left, no one forced him to stay, but he stayed by his own will.
