I was trying so hard not to pass out and sleep and the screeching pain in my abdomen was making me gasp and wheeze and occasionally groan in agony. Enoch held me tightly, cradling me like a delicate baby and cooing at me when I let out a moan or whine.
My skin was burning and a random jolt of pain made me growl feverishly, clenching my fists. Enoch now had tears in his eyes as he bit his lip, probably in as much pain as me. His fingers came up to brush the hair out of my sweaty face and rested his hand on my cheek, gently stroking it with his thumb.
I let out another high pitched whine and was interrupted by his lips on mine, pressing firmly into me to distract me from the sickening pain. It was good that we were alone.
I sighed into his mouth and reached my hands up to lace my fingers in his curly brown hair. He sighed a little and pressed harder into my body from the angle he sat in. His other hand curled around my waist, but I was too preoccupied with the kiss to notice. And the only thing I could think of was,
Finally.
This moment was then horribly spoiled by a blood curdling scream.
That came out of my own mouth.
Enoch had ripped the arrow straight out of my stomach with a grunt as a new flow of tears brust from my eyes.
"Yo-ou ASSHOLE!" I screeched, groaning again as he full on sobbed too. I was surprised, especially when he murmured 'I'm sorry' over and over again. A string of curses came next as blood pooled around me and my eyes turned dull. "E-Enoch..." I whispered, my eyes begging to be closed as they drooped. I felt the oncoming sleep and clung to it, wanting to leave this pain and slip into my dreams.
Just for a while...
"No. NO, NO, NO! Please don't! Don't sleep love, I've got you. Please, please... wake up." He choked into my hair as he planted loving little pecks on it, rocking back on forth as unconsciousness overtook me, my hand going limp in his. "No... please... w-wake up... I love you..."
"Enoch?" Emma's voice broke his strangled cries as he looked over at her through tear-blurred eyes.
"Oh my god."
"Is she OK?"
"Enoch, what did you do?"
"Did you kill her?"
"Oh my good Lord, he killed Eirwen!"
"No, no, I'm sure this is just a misunderstanding."
"EVERYONE SHUT UP!" Emma roared angrily, running over to my freezing cold body. Colder than before. "She's not dead, just unconscious. Now hurry up, we need to get her to another ymbryne and fast before she really does die." Enoch struggled to stand up. Emma tried to pick up my body, but Enoch stopped her with a small, soft voice,
"No. I want to take her." She obliged and he swiftly scooped me up with the gentleness of a true lover.
Maybe that's what we were, lovers.
Enoch pressed his lips against my forehead in a fond manner and let it linger for a little while longer before letting another tear drop.
"I'm so sorry this happened to you. I''m so sorry I didn't do anything to avoid it. I wish I could have taken your place. Please be OK." He muttered into my hair as I hung limply in his strong arms.
He propped my head up on his shoulder and carried me out of the tower to the others.

I couldn't open my eyes. They were glued shut and my throat was painfully sore and dry. I swallowed thickly and rolled onto my side, only to be interrupted by a sharp throb in my lower abdomen.
