He stood there, grinning at me as if it was a joy to see me here. Demon lord Astrelham, my merciless father, the one I wished to be long time ago. Four years had passed ever since I saw him. I couldn't believe, of all places, I got to meet him here.

"You always show up late." I told him, facing him as I had done healing Mirabella.

"It wasn't my job to fight him. It was yours." He looked down at Eligos' corpse and struck him with his magic. Eligos turned to dust and disappear into thin air. "But I guess it takes longer time to finish this bastard, so I lend you a little help."

I snorted as he said that with a hint of amusement. "Of course it would take longer time to finish him. I want him to die a slow death. To make him feel the pain. It was always fun to brutally torture people like him."

Astrelham looked at me and smirked, knowing that I would never get rid of the bloodlust in me. "Bloodthirsty demon." He went to the bed where both Calamity and Mirabella was lying. "Is that her?  The half-demon?" He looked down at Mirabella.

"The half-demon has a name, and it's Mirabella." I spoke before Calamity could open her mouth.

"Where are her wings?" He ignored me.

"Destroyed." I said, looking at the bits of the wings left at her back. It was unusual for Astrelham to care about others. He, after all, the most evil demon of the realm. But in this case, it was fair to care about someone who just literally destroyed the man who wanted to take over the realm.

"She's dying. Your healing magic does nothing on her." He said simply, showing no sympathy.

"What? No! Can you do something--" Calamity spoke up but was silenced just by Astrelham's glare.

"Only she can help."

I sighed. She was bad news. Having her to help Mirabella would be much worse, but there was no other choice. "Where is she--"

"Here I am."

A beautiful, fair yet deadly black-haired demoness appeared out of nowhere. Every demon knew who she was. Myantha, the demoness who captured the heart of the demon lord, the demoness of misfortunes. She came to me and at my head, like I was a child. "Good to see you here, Leonard."

"Don't worry about me, mother." I said, hiding my uneasiness. "Fix her." I pointed at Mirabella, who was getting paler and paler as the time passed.

She froze for a second when she saw Mirabella's state, and the she smiled. "Don't tell me, she's the reason you changed, the reason you asked me about how I feel towards your dumb father." She slightly giggled when I looked away from her. "Okay, I will. But there is always a cost."

"What--" I frowned as she held out her smooth index finger to shut me up. At the corner of my eyes, Astrelham rolled his eyes, not wanting to deal with Myantha.

"I am the demoness of misfortunes. I bring misfortune to the mortals but at the same time, I can perform a great healing magic. I can do anything on my own will but of course, I will take something valuable from someone who makes a bargain with me." She exclaimed, expression and tone changed dramatically. "There is nothing good come from making a bargain with us demons, Leonard."

What she said was true. But taking something valuable from Mirabella? It was outrageous! I couldn't let her take something from Mirabella--

"Just do it!" Calamity pleaded, crying. "Just fix her, Myantha. Please..."

Myantha smirked evilly and walked towards Mirabella. Her eyes changed into the shades of red, and that was when I knew her magic was working. Mirabella slowly regained her skin color.

"I fixed her. She was past the critical point but her wings are forever lost." Myantha said as she had done performing her magic on Mirabella. "And of course, I will take something valuable from her."

She walked away and that very moment, Mirabella finally woke up.
