Chapter fifteen. Enjoy(:
Josh squeezed my hand as we pulled up to a warehouse just outside of the city. I turned to him and gave him a questionable look, but he just ignored it.
"Come on baby girl," josh said as he got out of the jeep. I reluctantly got out after him and we walked hand in hand to the sketchy warehouse. Josh held the door open for me and I walked in cautiously. Josh grabbed my hand and we walked down a dark hallway until I heard it. Loud popping sounds followed by screams filled my ears as we walked into the room. I stopped walking and took in the obstacle course. It took up most of the warehouse, from where we stood, I could see every level of the warehouse was covered in fake vines and camouflage. There were secret hiding places in the jungle-gym like contraptions and obstacles where you could shoot the paint balls without being seen. Everything was covered in splotches of bright colors. The check-in center, where we stood now, was protected by a plexiglas window so while you're getting ready, you don't get hit.
That's when I felt the slight tugging on my hand and I turned around. Josh was looking at me and said:
"Ready?"
"I'm going to die," I said quietly. The paint ball course was filled with people, and I can tell you now that Josh is not the team player. This means war.
"Baby no you're not," he laughed. He pulled me toward the guns, padding, masks, and ammunition. Josh strapped the padding on him before helping me with mine. No wonder he told me to wear shorts and bring an extra pair of jeans and a t-shirt today, I was going to be covered in paint. We then walked over and grabbed paint ball guns the were made specifically for our height and weight before filling them with paint balls. His are orange and mine are purple.
An older, bigger man walked over to us. He was balding and was trying to hide it by using a bandana.
"You guys set?" he asked as I pulled my hair back into a ponytail and put the big, ugly goggles on my head. We both nodded and he continued, "Okay so, you have rented the equipment out for three hours, and in those three hours if you run out of ammo you can restock for free here." he pointed to where we got the paint balls in the first place "You can move freely through out the whole building and please try and not shoot at each other anywhere besides the vest. It hurts more then you think and you'll be so bruised. Okay that's about it so stay safe and have fun," he walked away and we just stood there, looking at each other. The plexiglas door that led to the arena was behind us and before I knew it I had run out of the office and into the arena with Josh screaming my name behind me.
I had run around and done ninja rolls throughout most of the arena, trying to get away from Josh. He had found me three times now. My vest had two orange splotches on it. I hate paint ball.
I had climbed up into a tree house type-thing in the back corner of the second floor when I noticed I wasn't alone. There was a girl, about my age, hiding in the corner of the tree house, clutching onto her gun. She looked up at me and then relaxed a bit.
"You won't shoot me right?" she asked. She had blonde hair and green eyes. She was a little curvy like me but taller by a few inches.
"Of course not," I said as I sat down next to her. She looked me up and down before saying:
"My boyfriend brought me here, he knows how much I hate stuff like this," she said. She looked scared, like seriously afraid for her life.
"Same," I said back.
"Rebecca," she said with a smile.
"Nic," I said back. At least at this moment, I feel sorta safe. We sat there for a while, just talking and laughing quietly. That's when I heard Josh's beautiful voice calling my name.
