John informed the receptionists and she made them go to sit down in the waiting room, John chose a seat with no armrest separating it from the next and pushed Sherlock gently into that one. Sherlock collapsed into the chair, coat still draped over his shoulders like a blanket and John let Sherlock fall into him, slowly slipping down onto his shoulder.
Sherlock yawned again before falling into that stage between dreaming and awake where his eyes were closed and his body felt warm and melted into its surroundings, vulnerable and tired but blissfully at peace.
Johns arm was going dead from Sherlock weight so he lifted his arm from being trapped under the detective and instead wrapped it around the detective, his hand setting gently on his waist, nestling neatly in the crook of his body. Sherlock sighed and tucked his arms up between John and himself, folded in on themselves with his fist near his face. John smiled at the childlike man nuzzled into him and held him close waiting to be called in.
When the nurse came to call them in she smiled at Sherlock and John, Sherlock still asleep on John and John smiling softly down at him.
"You two make an adorable couple" she said with a smile, her eyes twinkling at John.
"We're not a couple, he's just my flat mate" John assured, but he continued smiling at the man in his arms. "Anyway I better wake him, I'll be with you in a second, Thankyou"
The nurse smiled again and nodded, walking into the consulting room trough the door and John gently nudged Sherlock awake until he began to stir, groaning in annoyance at being disturbed.
"Come on wakey wakey, you need to get up now" John said softly, lifting the coat off Sherlocks shoulders and making Sherlock groan again, "your just a teenager aren't you, come on Sherlock, up!" John commanded and slowly Sherlock stood up in front of John and the doctor lead them out through the door the nurse had left through.
John guided Sherlock to sit on the chair next to the dentist and Sherlock sat stiffly in the chair, his eyes calculating and wide. The dentist leaned over Sherlock and made the chair recline so that Sherlock was forced to lie down, Sherlock looked at John in fear and then back to the dentist hovering over him, eyes hidden with weird glasses and a white mask.
The dentist picked up a few tools from his table and turned to Sherlock, getting Sherlock to open his mouth wide but he refused and clamped his mouth shut.
"Sherlock don't be troublesome, come on he won't hurt you" John said softly, brushing a curl from Sherlocks forehead and feeling the slight sheen of sweat that had appeared there. John looked at Sherlock again, eyes wide and afraid and finally he understood and took Sherlocks hand, rubbing soothing circles into his knuckles and calming the detective.
The dentist nodded in thanks as Sherlock silently obeyed and opened his mouth wide, his lips still slightly swollen and stinging from the punch earlier. John continued to sooth Sherlock and whispered softly to him as the dentist looked at his teeth.
"Your doing great Sherlock, I'm proud of you" John said softly, his other hand now carding gently through Sherlocks hair, "there's my lad, I'm not going anywhere"
Sherlocks eyes darted round the room but whenever John spoke his eyes locked with Johns and he felt calmer and safer, no one would hurt him with John around.
The dentist says that he's going to need to put Sherlock under general anesthesia so that he can move the tooth to its proper position, John nods at the dentist and strokes Sherlocks forehead up from his right eyebrow, smoothing out the frowns.
The dentist then takes out a mask and adjusts it over Sherlocks head, John smiles at Sherlock as he slowly falls asleep, listening carefully to Johns calming voice.
