11. desperation

I followed Jake in silence as we made our way down the halls. He had somehow gotten his hands on a guards sword and i didn't want to get hit by it so i stayed a bit behind him.

He turned around and smiled at me "You're gorgeous by the way". I choked on air and tripped up. he laughed at me as I got back up and gave him a funny look. What the hell, man is he gay!? 

I growled lowly and huffed as i trotted on. Bentley's scent was stronger now and i trotted faster. "Whoa slow down! i can smell him to. We can't rush into things , it'll just get us killed" he ordered and i growled. i reluctantly slowed down , that's what years of taking orders does for you , make you unable to ignore them.

Voices from down the hall made me prick my ears and i whined in anticipation. "Calm down , we'll need to work together on this" Jake held his hand out , telling me to stay behind him. I growled but did as i was told.

"Get off of me!" i heard Bentley shout and yipped in anxiety. Jake sped up and ducked behind a corner. I followed and came up beside him. I growled when i peeked out from it. Bentley was tied up and had plenty of whip lashes and cuts all over him. Two guards stood at the arch outside of it and the two sorcerers were inside. The eye patched one was cutting his cheek with a knife.

I growled and tried to jump forwards. Jake stuck his foot out and stopped me "don't you'll never beat them". I growled but stepped back as he smiled reassuringly at me.

"you thought you could get away with this! Beating everyone at all the tournaments just because your daddy's the king! Your arrogance didn't help either , the least you could focus be polite! But no! You had to be a stuck up little brat! Well look where that's got you" the front sorcerer laughed and I growled lowly.

"don't ruin our cover,  we've only got one chance" Jake whispered nervously and I rolled my eyes. I'm not stupid !

I growled when Bentley spat blood onto his face and he punched him. just wait he'll pay.

Jake looked like he had no idea what to do. I sat down and huffed. we could just wait till they leave.

I strained to stop myself from attacking when Bentley was cut again. he winced from pain and I whimpered as blood trickled down his face. we had to save him now!

I snarled causing the guards to look around in confusion. "stop it!  what are you doing!" I ignored Jake as he complained and jumped forwards.

the guards tensed as I ran up to them and Jake cursed before picking up his sword and running after me.

I dodged their swings and jumped onto  the first one .he fell back and I jumped off of him,  only to be sliced by the others sword. I yelped then grabbed the blade, flying in the air as he tried to swing me off it.

he yelled and fell to the floor and I tilted my head in confusion. I then carried on when I noticed Jake's blade in his back. Bentley looked up as I ran up to them and his eyes widened . " Raven no go back!" he warned and I hesitated, he's never told me to do that before. he's always believed in me.

The other sorcerer turned around and smirked at me. I growled at him as the eyepatched one turned around to face me with a fierce look.

I snarled at him then yelped in shock as i was tossed aside. I landed on the floor and tried to look around for something that pushed me , but there was nothing there.

The other man laughed but was cut short when Jake ran into the room and swung at him. "Jake! not you too!" Bentley complained as he tried to get up but couldn't break the ropes. 

Jake was definitely losing the fight but i used them being distracted to my advantage and ran over to him. I cut the ropes with my teeth then turned around and leaped for the eyepatched ones back. "No!" i heard Bentley shout as i landed on the mans back. He grunted in shock and started toppling over but i yelped in surprise when i flew upwards and was thrown against the stone walls.

Jake screamed as he too was thrown to the side with an invisible force. They are powerful , that's for sure. Either its really windy or something in here or they are using magic. I huffed and laid still on the cold stone ground , playing dead; maybe i could do a surprise attack.

Jake winced and got up while holding the back of his head. "Well well , i don't remember you, seems we've got another rescuer here" the sorcerer laughed and i held back a growl. "This time i wont spare you!" he suddenly tuned hostile as he held out his hand and Jake lifted off the ground. 

He widened his eyes then grabbed for his sword. He just manged to grab it as he flew upwards and in one last attempt threw it at the sorcerer. His eyes widened as he tried to jump out of the way but Bentley was standing right behind him. The sword penetrated his chest and he cried out while the eye patched one screamed with fury.

He flew both of them to the wall with such force  , it knocked Bentley out and Jake looked pretty dazed. I took this as my time to act and jumped up , leaping other the others body and heading towards the eyepatched ones neck. 

Jake widened his eyes as i closed in and the man turned around. I was just able to bite into his neck before he flung me aside. 

He held his neck and growled in anger. i got back up from the floor and went for him again , only for him to fling me away. I hit the wall and heard a loud crack as my head pounded against it. 

i  shook my head then blinked the spots out of my eyes before going for him again. He was sweating and panting and i could tell there was  a limit to his power.

He swung me aside again but with less power and i snarled before jumping forwards. He tried to push me out of the way with his arm and i bit into it.

He wailed in pain and i bit down harder. He kicked me in the stomach , forcing me to let go. I landed on the floor and licked the blood from my mouth as i got ready to jump again. 

I leaped off the floor and towards him but my eyes widened as i saw what he was hovering next to him with a spell. I knew it was to late to go back and decided to go for the kill , the neck. 

"No!" i heard Jake shout before i bit down into the mans neck. He cried out again then tensed and I heard a whooshing sound. 

i yelped in unbearable pain as the hovering sword buried into my chest and bit down harder. The man wailed in pain as he twisted the sword around inside of me. I bit down even harder , managing to pierce his jugular before falling backwards.

I looked into Jake's horrified eyes as my visioned blurred and i landed on the now blood splatted stone floor.
