8:00AM:

Cassie sat alone in the house. Things were a lot quieter now. There was no Gene to tease her, no Gene to make her feel better. Gene was, no longer in the house. Cassie went to the hospital so many times to visit that they eventually told her that they needed to work, and kicked her out. Every time she went, Gene was asleep. She remembered looking at all of his bandages and casts. It's been three weeks since he's been hospitalized. A lot of people, including her parents, came to visit her. Yet most the time, she said nothing to them. They had always brought food for her, that she never ate. She practically starved herself most of the time. It was her fault Gene was in this situation. She knew that. If she ate anything more than a snack, she threw it up. The house phone began to ring, and once she saw it was the hospital, she forced herself to get up and answer. "Hello?" She spoke, softly. "Is this Cassie?" The other end asked. "Yes, speaking." There was a moment of silence on the other end. "Someone is requesting you. Will you come?" Cassie felt her soul perk up. "Yes, I'll come immediately!" She said, hanging up, grabbing her keys, and running out of the house. She drove straight to the hospital.

Once she arrived, she went up to the desk. "I'm here for Gene." The man nodded, and escorted her to a room. Once they arrived, the man left her alone. She took a deep breath, entering the room. "Cassie?" Asked a weak voice. She ran over. "Gene! I'm so sorry.." She cried. Gene smiled at her, but then his smile faded. "Cassie, you look really thin. Have you been eating properly?" Cassie didn't respond for a moment. "That doesn't matter, how are you feeling? You've been out for 3 weeks." Gene sighed. "Cassie. Nothing is more important than you. Don't you know that already?" She felt her heart sink. "I don't understand. You were such a dick to me when we first met.." She whimpered, a tear rolling down her face, in which Gene reached up, and wiped it away. "I've never been a great person, Cassie. When I met you, I felt different. I knew you were something special, but I tried to push away my feelings since I know I'd hurt you. That's why I lied to you when you woke up that morning. You didn't remember waking up, and making out with me. You didn't remember any of that. So when you asked.. I just didn't want to hurt you Cassie. I really didn't want to lie to you, either. But I thought it'd be better that way..." He explained, trailing off. She hugged him for a moment, then pulled away. "I'm so glad you woke up." She said, changing the subject. "I know it's my fault you got hurt.. I wanted to do everything I could to make sure you woke up.." She said, as she looked around the room, in which there were tons of flowers and colorful balloons. Not to mention a box of doughnuts sitting on the table. "It wasn't your fault. Cassie, look at me." She obeyed him, and looked at his body, in which was very built and bulky. "Do you see me? Compared to you?" He said. She looked at his face now. "If you were the one hit by the car, you would've died." He said. She sniffled and began to cry. "No, no.. Cassie, don't cry.. Look, both of us are alive now.. Be happy." She climbed into the hospital bed with him, and laid there next to him, crying into his arm. "I'm sorry." She said quietly.

2:00PM:

Cassie watched as Gene slept. She smiled. He was okay. She brought out her sketch book and began to draw in an anime-like style, drawing a girl and a boy, who were sitting together on a bench. "Cassie?" Said the doctor, as she walked in. "Yes, Doctor?" She asked. "He'll be ready to come back home in two to three weeks." The doctor said, and Cassie felt a large grin coming onto her face. "Thank you, doctor!" Then, as the doctor walked out, Cassie got a call on her phone. She smirked as she saw it was her father. "Hello, father?" She asked. "Hello, Cassie. We found him, the one who almost killed you in the car crash." Cassie felt her smirk slowly fade into a large grin. "Good. Sue him for every penny he's got." She said. "Don't worry, we we're planning to anyway." In the background, she could hear her mother's voice. "Anything for our little Cass!" Cassie smiled. "Thanks. Love you." She said, then hung up the phone. "Don't worry, Gene. We'll take this guy to court for what he did to you and me." She said softly, making sure not to wake him. Then, her eyes scanned to the table. She opened the box of doughnuts, took one, and then took Gene's phone. She ate as she typed in a password. 'Cassie.' How predictable he was. As she tapped on his texts, one seemed very odd to her. The name? The name was Natalie. He clicked on the text. "Hey babe, how are you?" This text was sent by.. Gene. Gene.. Gene had a girlfriend? She wanted to angrily throw the phone across the room. Why did he act interested in Cassie if he had a girlfriend? She did not read anymore text messages, and placed the phone down on the table. "I thought things would be different when you got home. I was wrong... I was so very wrong. I should've known this about you. You said it yourself, you'd end up hurting me.

4:00PM:

Cassie went home, and packed her boxes. Filling each one up. She wasn't going to live with Gene any longer. She thought he had loved her. How naive could she have been? She packed up each and every box, and carried each one downstairs. "Laura. It's me, Cassie. Come get me. I'm moving in with you."
