Dylah shook her head and clicked her tongue. "So naive, sea spawn." She said regaining her confidence.
Percy blinked in surprise. He was so confused. And scared. Can't forget scared-actually, Percy would describe what he was feeling as terror. He didn't know what to do, he was basically watching his girl crumble before his eyes. His world was crumbling before him. He had to do something. Anything to get his Wise Girl to safety.
"I don't care how naive you think I am." Percy spat pulling against the ropes. "I know you need Annabeth for leverage over your enemy. But I am not going to let that happen. Ever."
To Percy's-huge-surprise, Dylah just laughed. "Oh, Percy, Percy, Percy. You really think I'm going to do as you say? You're even more of a seaweed brain than I thought."
Percy growled in annoyance. Why can't this girl let them go? And more importantly, why are they here in the first place? Nico had just sacrificed himself to save the son of Poseidon not 2 weeks ago. So what was going on?
Dylah smiled and floated over to where Annabeth was lying, injured on the cold, hard floor. "What happens to him is entirely up to you." She said forcibly kicking Annabeth in the stomach and side.
Annabeth groaned in pain and squeezed herself into a tight ball trying to avoid most of the pain.
Percy's gut clenched and his heart throbbed. He wanted so bad to rush over there and comfort her. But he couldn't. He was weak from hunger and dizzy from lack of water.
Percy liked being the son of Poseidon, but there were some disadvantages. Everyone thought that the only reason that Percy spent so much time at the beach was because of the view and the feel of his own territory. That was only half of the truth. Percy needed water. He needed to be submerged, because the longer he was dry, or away from water, the weaker he got. Just like when he's in water. The longer he's in it, the stronger he gets.
Despite feeling like the dead that he'd seen too many times, he needed to come up with a plan. A plan to get Annabeth to safety. Even if it meant sacrificing himself for her. He'd do anything for her. Anything for his Wise Girl.
Percy knew that he wasn't as good as coming up with plans. That was Annabeth's thing. But right now, it needed to be his thing.
Percy looked up just in time to see Dylah raise her foot to kick Annabeth again. Percy sneered and said, "Don't you dare touch her."
Dylah whipped around with an angry frown on her-too much makeuped-face. "What did you say?" She asked not expecting an answer.
"I said, don't you DARE touch her." Then he let out the most angry, desperate, and gut wrenching scream he had ever made. Following that scream was a massive surge of water, like the ocean needed a new home and it chose the place that held it's lord's son captive.
Keep Annabeth safe. He thought and the waves responded by wrapping Annabeth in an air bubble and whisking her away, screaming for her Seaweed Brain. Her love.
Percy's heart shattered into a million pieces as he sank slowly to the floor. He laid on there fading rapidly, dying.
Not even the water could save him now. And just like that, Perseus Achilles Jackson. Savior of Olympus, was gone.
