Lucy was seven years old when a family had moved into the house right next to hers in the wonderful suburban neighborhood of Magnolia.

The family looked pretty normal to Lucy at first when she was watching from her window. It was just a man and a small boy.

The boy had pink hair which caught her eye. The little girl had watch the father and son move boxes into the house with movers for a while.

After a little bit, she had run downstairs to the call of her mother for dinner. When she reached the bottom of the steps, she seen her father and mother seated at the table.

Her mother had made all the plates for the family members and they began to dig in. Lucy brought up the family who had just moved in next door and the mom had responded with "oh did something catch your eye when you seen them".

Lucy was a little confused so was the dad but then the mom also said "the little boy with the pink hair is 7, just like you Lucy; he asked who you were when I talked to him and his father a little bit ago; he said he seen you staring out the window".

Lucy was a little shocked that he'd seen her at all because she was crouched while she staring at them. Lucy had replied "oh yeah I was only looking for a couple of minutes, but he looks pretty kind".

"Good because I invited them both to come over for dinner tomorrow" the mom had announced. The dad had jumped in the conversation at this moment and said "that sounds like a wonderful idea for both the kids and adults".

Supper had ended on a good note and Lucy headed to bed that night nervous at the thought of the following day.

The next day at around 5:30, the pink haired boy and his father had showed up. They were both invited and Mrs.Heartfilla had called for Lucy.

She had rushed down the hall but slowed down at the stairs because she had remembered the boy had entered her house now. She peaked around the corner, shy but her mom had helped her and introduced her, " this is Lucy, my daughter, she is very excited to meet you".

At this point the boy had responded with " Hi, I'm Natsu, maybe we could play some games for a little till dinner is ready?".

Lucy and her mom nodded at each other and they both took off to her room. They both enjoyed the company of each other as they laughed and caused the blocks to crash with one another. They both didn't know that this night would be the beginning of a friendship that would last a life time.

The next ten years went flying by and they spent as much time as they could with one another. They would watch movies together, walk to school and home together, and they would spend nights telling each other secrets.

Natsu was always there for Lucy. For the times she was sad about how her father had been drinking all night, yelling at her mom about how he had lost his job and that she never did enough for the household.

Natsu was always there to bring her back up to herself when things were bad but one night something had happen, unforgivable.

Her dad had been drunk and Lucy's mom had taken to much from the past years of abuse. She had snapped and started screaming at Mr. Heartfilla about the drinking. He had stood up and slapped her across the face with a expression that showed no mercy.

Mrs. Heartfilla had stated to cry and ran up stairs to grab Lucy and they both ran outside.

Natsu was outside the house with a bat he brought from his own house.

He asked if everything was okay in a very caring voice and Lucy's mom had replied "no, I need to go and I'm bringing Lucy with me" Natsu had grabbed Lucy's hand with a look in his eye that had true emotion behind it and said "She can stay with me for the night, I'll make sure to take care of her until you return" Lucy's mom shook her head saying okay and ran to the car.

She drove off like a dart.

Natsu had given Lucy his jacket and walked her back to his house but they had no idea about the tragedy about to take place.

Mr. Heartfilla had been driving to her mom's home which was an hour drive away. While on the highway she had been going way over the speed limit and was crying the whole time, thinking what to do about the situation. Her mind drifted and the car started to slide to it's right. Only if she had noticed the tree, maybe she could have avoided it but faith had something else in mind. The car hit head on with the tree and caused her to go flying out of the front window. Her body slid for forty yards, skin pealing and blood shedding all over the concrete on the side of the rode. Leaving her to lay silent on the floor with soulless eyes and a face with no emotion, dead.
