✨Chapter 1✨

"Doctor, will she be able to live?"

"Nobody will know if she's able to or not. I will give her three years to live. Kai, I expect you to take good care of her."

"Alright sir, I will."

"Rei, wake up!"

I felt the covers move slightly on the hospital bed. Startled, I woke up suddenly, and noticed a boy at my side.

"How do you know my name?"

"I'm Kai Morishigi, and I'll be taking care of you while you stay at this hospital."

'Oh, so I'm at another hospital. I guess that means that I am either going to die soon or-'

"-You must be Rei Shinara, right?"

"Yes. I don't know why I was put in this hospital."

I thought that I would've been better at the other hospital. The IV, Heart Monitor, and little plastic stick on monitors looked the same from either hospital.

"You were transferred to this hospital, Rei. Doctors have informed me that you only have years to liv-"

"--Wait so you're saying that I was admitted to this hospital. Do you know the particular reason?"

"You were transferred here because this is the best hospital for people who suffer with heart problems. Rei, don't worry you'll be fine here."

Kai had given me a reasurring glance that was welcomed to me. I shrugged because this was insane.

I couldn't go to school, and my life was crashing down quickly. All of my friends had forgotten me, and now I'm alone in a dull hospital room with a boy.

"Rei Shinara?"

"Yes?"

"I'm your doctor."

A man stepped into the hospital room. He looked like your average doctor, and he was tall.

"I'm Kuroji Morishigi, and I've presumed you've met my son, Kai."

Kuroji walked over to my hospital bed, and whispered a few words in my ear.

"Yes. I have met Kai."

I swallowed my fate into those words, and Kuroji left the room shortly afterwards.

"Is that why you are here to take care of me?"

"Yes, I was appointed by my father to take care of you, Rei."

I looked over at Kai, and he smiled.

"How long will I have to live without being able to go outside?"
