Chapter 8:
It was dark. I couldn't see a thing. Then in the distance, I saw a small glowing light. it was green and floating about a foot in the air. Another green light appeared next to it. I squinted and the thing jumped at me.
I woke up and sat up. I was sweating buckets. I looked to my side and saw Nick and Molly sleeping and Suder across the fire from me. The dream. it was so bizarre. the beast was the type that bit my leg on that night. I think the venom was getting to me.
I woke the others and we got packed up and headed out. Suder was now awake but still drowsy. We started to head north; that was where the helicopter was heading until it crashed. I was limping, the bite was hurting my leg more than before, but I knew I had to power through it.
"We need a destination. All of the information I have now is to walk north. I need something else!" Nick said. He was mainly talking to Suder. I wanted to tell them about my leg pain but I didn't think it was the right time.
"Well all I know is that the beasts and their leaders have taken control of a monastery and it's up north." Suder replied strictly. Nick nodded his head and kept walking. Molly fell behind the other two and walked in line with me.
"How are you feeling?" she said.
"I'm alright. Don't tell Suder or Nick this, but my leg has been bothering me a lot lately. I think the venom is taking effect." I said to her quietly so the others wouldn't hear.
"That isn't good. It means that your time to live is shortening." she whispered back. I took that in. I might only have a few days left to live. That's a scary thought.
Chapter 9:
We were attacked by beasts twice and it was only midday. What would the rest of the day bring? I always kept my hand on my holster and my other ready to grab the gun slung on my back.
Molly and I didn't exchange any speech after the conversation we had before. My leg was still bothering me and I knew that I would die without the antidote from the enemy base.
Chapter 10:
We kept walking in silence. Molly smiled at me every once in a while and I smiled back. I felt a strong bond between me and Molly. It was either that we were going to be really good friends, or more than that.
Suder pointed onto the horizon and said, "we should probably rest here for the night, the sun is setting." We all agreed and laid out camp. The sky was getting darker and we started to turn in. We all got into our sleeping bags. and said our goodnights. I was afraid to go to sleep though. I didn't want to have another dream.
"Psst," I heard. I turned on my side and faced Molly who was looking at me. I smiled and mouthed "what?" She laughed and mouthed "good night" and I mouthed back, "good night" and I was going to say something else, but decided not to. I laid down on my back and faced the stars. I now knew one thing for sure. I was in love.
