Author note: if you read the date in the last chapter and are confused, I was having problems with my first draft and had to start over e.e
I'm sorreh forgive me ;-;
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:
This book will be pretty lengthy... As in 30-35 chapters, maybe even more. This is because I make shorter chapters so that I can update frequently. (I hate when people take too long to update, I'm sure you do too) so I'm barely even halfway through this book.

Remember to vote if you enjoy! XD

The teens were fighting for their lives. Who knew a few guys with guns could be so dangerous?

A few hours earlier
Mount Justice

The members of Young Justice were filing into the bioship, M'gann strapping them in tightly with the seat belts. Wally, Kaldur, Rocket, Artemis, Superboy, and M'gann were ready to investigate- ready to find the civilian. He could be dead for all they knew! However they wouldn't be quitting anytime soon until they knew for certain.

Batman had hacked into many databases, finally finding an epicenter of M16 shipments. It was a very large shipment, with enough guns to supply Sportsmaster's men and attack Gotham Academy. The shipment included a delivery of an assortment of other tools, weapons, and items.

Batman got lucky; because there was another shipment from the same company, on its way to the previous buyers. Who was the buyer, you might ask? Lawrence Crock. Although his tracks were erased with a fake name, it wasn't that hard for the World's Greatest Detective to figure it out. Who did Batman send to infiltrate the association? The team.

Now

That brought the teens to the present. Luckily the mental link was still up, so Kaldur was able to give commands to the other heroes that we're currently struggling to fight off the mass of armed men. Bullets flew everywhere, the noise pounding in their ears.

"I'm gonna become deaf!" Wally practically yelled through the mental link, while taking down a masked gunman.
"We'll all become deaf if you keep screaming in the link, Kid Idiot!" Artemis replied, as she leaned against a crate for support.
"Stop arguing! We retreat... Now!" Their leader ordered.
"No! They know where Dick is!" The speedster countered. One of the men caught him off guard, and knocked him into a large support beam causing Wally to yelp in pain.

Kaldur ignored Wally's comment, and gave Megan a glance. After knocking a few men unconscious she met his gaze, giving a slight nod. Rocket put a supportive arm around the injured archer, while Kaldur picked up an unconscious Wally. Superboy and Megan followed their teammates out of the warehouse, making their way to the bioship.

The gunshots continued to ring through the air as the team sprinted out of the warehouse and across the gravel lot. They ran behind the large building, revealing the bioship in cameo mode. Megan opened the large back door, ushering her friends to enter. After everyone got in, she shut the door just in time as a group of gunmen came into view. They continued to fire the bullets, causing Megan to swerve the ship a bit.

"The bullets... They're hurting her! It's painful!" She cried, the ship still swerving. Luckily everyone was strapped into their seats, which offered them support.
"M'gann. Try to stay calm, you're our only way outta here." Rocket commented firmly but soothingly, giving the Martian a reassuring glance.
"What the hell guys? Dick could be dead and we are running like a bunch of cowards!" Wally raged, surprising his teammates, who's eyes widened.
Kaldur gave a large sigh. "Wally, I feel as if you know Richard more than you say. What are you not telling us? What did you leave out of your almost-convincing story?" The Atlantean begged.
Before anyone could reply, their leader continued...
"And Artemis... You said you have something to confess. What is it you have to say?"

The archer shuffled in discomfort. Before they left, she decided she had to confess that she enlisted Richard Grayson's help to figuring out Robin's identity. However she didn't have the guts, and promised to tell them after the mission. The team agreed reluctantly, because they had to leave as soon as possible anyways.

"Richard Grayson agreed to help me figure out Robin's identity... And I saw him get kidnapped..."

An Unknown Location
An hour earlier

"Wh-why?" The boy managed to cough up, surprised by Cheshire's words.
"Because, bird boy- we need you alive." She replied, walking towards Dick who was strapped into the chair and painfully hunched over.

Cheshire pulled out the vial, which she then poured into a large syringe. The antidote was a very odd colour; a beige-ish reddish brown colour. It looked too much like blood for Robin's liking, causing him to cringe. At this point, seeing anything red wanted to make him cringe.

His black hair was matted to his sweating forehead. There was a gash on his head, trickling warm blood down his forehead. His lip was busted, and he had a scratch on his cheek and a bruise as well. His uniform was torn and tattered, and the wound on his chest was clearly visible. Blood, dirt, and dust coated his clothing- he looked as if he just took part in the zombie apocalypse. His crimson wrists and ankles had been carelessly wrapped with gauze, and they were bounded to the arms and legs of the cold metal chair.

Dick had expected to have the poison coursing through his veins until he was nearly dead, but no. Cheshire decided to give it to him now?

Before he could ask questions, the needle was injected into his neck causing him to wince. Jade then pulled it out, and stood back to give him a glance.

"You're welcome." She stated flatly, clearly amused.
"Why did you-"
"In about an hour, the poison should be completely cleaned out of your system. Try to relax." Jade interjected before he could finish his question.
"Dodging my questions now, huh?" Dick joked, a smirk making its way onto his face.
Jade snickered. "Looks like you can finally speak now, without stuttering and cramping into a ball. Again, you're welcome."
"It's a bit ironic, Jade."
"Why's that?"
"You're the one that got me into this mess... And now you're the one trying to get me out of it."

Jade stared at him in disbelief. He had caught her mistake, and now she looked weak.

"You know that I've been in these situations before, Cheshire. You're truly brilliant. You know that if I have the antidote I'll find my way out somehow... Then all you have to do is tell daddy that I escaped by myself somehow. It looks as if you truly care."
"No, it was Sportsmaster's orders bird brain." She replied quickly, moving her glance to the floor.
"Whatever makes you feel better. You think Roy will forgive you for this?" Dick asked with a hoarse chuckle.

He got no reply.

Jade just left the room, leaving the Boy Wonder on his own.

An Unknown Location

The sound of leather being unstrapped could be heard, if you listened very closely. The injured Boy Wonder, pushed himself up off the chair, depending on his throbbing ankles for support.

The pain in his chest flared down- Cheshire wasn't lying. She really did care...

Dick let out a shuddered breath as he limped towards his escape.
