It was a cold August morning as Marcus got ready for school. It was the first day of school as he would soon start his senior year. Marcus was an athletic teen who played for the school's football team. He had short black hair and was five foot eleven. Marcus was a typical teenage boy without a controversial flaw about him. In the past, he's always dated popular girls as he's always been attracted to beautiful women. Marcus himself was quite popular, always surrounded by friends and family with little time for himself to think. To him, the world was a mystery someone else had to solve. Marcus always knew what he wanted, and just how to get it. He packed his backpack before he drove to school.

After parking his car, Marcus carried his things as he walked to his first period which was Physical Education. He got to the locker room as he noticed he was one of the first ones there. He walked into the bathroom after he changed to fix his hair in the mirror. Before walking out, he noticed someone in one of the stalls who seemed to be changing as there had been clothes on the ground by his feet. He headed out to the blacktop as more people began to enter the locker room.
He ran into his friends at the door.
"Hey Marc, wait up." One of his friends said as they walked in.
"Alright." Marcus replied before going back into the locker room.
Marcus stood by his friend's locker as he noticed a guy who strangely stood out to him from across the room. They made eye contact before he quickly looked down. Marcus continued to stare as he watched him leave to the blacktop.
"You know him?" Marc's friend, Jake, asked.
"No, I just.. I haven't seen him around." Marcus answered.
"Oh I think he's new, I saw him earlier." Marc's other friend replied.
"He's cool, seems kinda gay though." Jake replied before they laughed.
Marcus smiled distractedly as he thought about why he stood out to him.
They headed out to the blacktop after they changed.

When Marcus and his friends got there, they noticed the new guy they saw in the locker room.
"Looks like you've got class with him." One of Marc's friends said as they both passed him to go with their class.
Marcus looked at him before he looked back. They made quick eye contact before he quickly looked down. Again, Marcus continued to stare as they began class.
After almost an hour had passed, half the class had just finished their run as Marcus walked from the track to the blacktop. He noticed the guy from the locker room standing by a tree alongside the blacktop. He walked up to him.
"Hey," Marcus said smiling as he approached him.
"Hi," the new guy said with a warm smile before looking down.
"You're Nathan?" He asked him as he noticed the name written on his shorts.
"Yeah," he said nodding awkwardly.
"I'm Marcus," he said holding out his hand.
Nathan smiled as he reached out to shake his hand.
"Nice to meet you, man." Marcus said with a smile.
"You too," Nathan replied smiling back.
"Hey, do you wanna hang out later for lunch? I heard you're new to the school, I just thought I'd help show you around." Marcus told him.
"Yeah, sure. But actually I'm pretty much familiar with the school already, I took a few classes here this summer." Nathan told him.
"Oh alright, well we could go to McDonald's or somewhere like that if you want." Marcus replied.
"We could leave campus?"
"Yeah, seniors could. Are you a senior?"
"No, junior." Nathan answered.
"Oh, well you could probably pass for a senior." Marcus replied with a smile before Nathan smirked.
Marcus smiled as he watched him smile. They stood silent for a quick second before the bell rang. They walked back to the locker room together before going their separate ways. Marcus watched as he noticed him going into the bathroom to change.
After changing into his regular clothes, Marcus waited in the bathroom for Nathan.
"Oh hey," Nathan said as he left the stall.
"Hey, I noticed you changed here. Do you need a locker?" He asked him from the sink.
"No, I just rather change in here. It's a little crowded in there really." Nathan replied walking to the sink.
"Alright, well I'll see you at lunch. Meet me around here?" Marcus asked.
"Alright." Nathan answered with a smile.
"Cool." Marcus replied smiling before leaving to his next period.
Nathan grabbed his things before leaving to his next period as well.

Hours passed before the lunch bell rang. Nathan waited for Marcus by the locker room before Marcus rushed to him.
"Hey, sorry I'm a little late. You ready?" He asked him.
"It's alright, I'm ready." Nathan answered smiling.
"Cool, let's go." Marcus said before they walked to his car.
They drove to the nearest McDonald's before they walked inside to eat.
Minutes passed as they had been talking and eating their meals.
"So that's really how you think we got here?" Nathan asked.
"Yeah, duh. It's the only explanation." Marcus answered.
"Well there's millions of theoretical explanations, but if you don't believe in God you have to at least believe in the big bang theory." Nathan told him.
"I don't believe the Big Bang started everything, I believe a different bang did." Marcus replied with a smirk.
"Oh come on, your theory doesn't make sense. If a monkey and an alien banged and made humans, who made them?"
"I told you, more aliens." Marcus answered.
"Oh, 'cause that's the answer to everything; more aliens." Nathan replied smiling.
Marcus laughed as he smiled back at him. He saw something in him he's never seen in anyone before. Not in a guy nor a girl.
"What?" Nathan asked him after he noticed his staring.
"Nothing," Marcus replied looking down.

After they ate, Marcus and Nathan walked out to Marc's car. Before they got in, Nathan built up the courage to ask something he'd been wondering throughout lunch.
"Marcus, could I ask you something?" He asked him.
"Sure, anything." Marcus said, smiling.
"I don't mean to make this weird or anything, but... was this like a date?" Nathan asked him.
Marcus looked down before looking up at him.
"I mean, I don't know. I've never really done anything like this." Marcus answered.
"Well, me neither." Nathan replied.
Marcus looked up at him with a smile before opening the car door on the passenger's side. Nathan got in before he closed the door. Marcus walked over to the driver's side before getting in and driving back to school.
When they arrived at school Marcus asked for Nathan's phone. He gave it to him before he seemed to be typing something into it.
"Text me later.. if you're free. I wanna take you on a real date, if you want." He told him after giving his phone back.
"Yeah, sure. I'd love that." Nathan told him, smiling.
Marcus looked to his left and right before leaning over to kiss him.
"Was that okay" he asked Nathan.
"Yeah, better than okay." He replied.
Marcus laughed with a smirk before leaning back to face the wheel. He checked once more for people around the parking lot; no sight of anyone he knew.
"Well, I'll see you tonight.. wherever you want to go." Marcus told him.
"Okay, I'll text you."
"Cool."
They smiled at each other in silence before getting out of the car.
"Hey Nath, is it alright if we keep this just between us? I'm just not really sure how the guys would react if they heard about this." Marcus told him, trying on a new nickname.
"Yeah sure, it's cool. I mean I'm not really out yet either."
"Oh, I'm not..."
"What do you mean you're not?" Nathan asked before he could finish.
"I mean.. I'm just not sure, really. Today in the gym I just... never had that feeling before."
"What feeling" Nathan asked him.
"Nothing.. I meant I never felt attracted to anyone besides a girl before. Maybe you were just a bad influence on me." Marcus joked before the bell rang.
"Well we should get to class. See you tonight, Nath." He said before rushing to class.
Nathan stood there confused at his answer. What did he mean bad influence? What did he do? Whatever it was, he knew he had to find out on this date.
