Salem
--------------------
I appeared in an empty room, white walls made up my surroundings.
I glanced left and right, but nothing else seemed to exist, only the white walls.
"Bang!"
I heard something drop in the distance, I couldn't help but shudder at the sudden chills that engulfed my entire body.
"Ya Mom! Don't worry I grabbed it!"
Someone called, I quickly turned around, but no one was there.
Dazed I began walking forward, not really sure of where I was going.
"Alright Shawn! Please have a good day!"
Another voice called from somewhere off in the distance behind me.
I quickly spun around, but the sound had faded.
Only a name left.
"Shawn?"
I timidly asked out loud, my voice shaky.
No answer.
--------------------
I woke sweaty, my hands trembled as I fiddled around with my lamp switch.
"Salem! You're going to be late!"
My Mom called moments later, I glanced over towards my window to see the sun was rising.
"I'm up!"
I yelled back, I swung my feet over my bed and started for my closet.
Black skinny jeans, and a dark blue t-shirt, my go to outfit.
Shawn.
My mind wandered to the name, my dream slowly came back to me.
The white walls.
The voices.
Nothing.
"Salem! You need to get going!"
My Mom called up the stairs, I shook my head trying to snap out of my thoughts.
After grabbing my backpack I headed downstairs for the kitchen.
My six year old brother Noah met me at the back door.
"Salem, look!"
He squeaked out in excitement.
I giggled as he showed me a drawing of a dragon, the biggest smile plastered across his sweet face.
"It's beautiful!"
I told him happily, his smile seemed to grow even wider.
"Cara's here!"
My Dad called from the living room seconds later.
"Okay!"
I yelled back.
"Be good Noah, see you later!"
I called over my shoulder as I strode out the kitchen door.
Cara was pulled up front by the curb, her brown hair in perfect twisted curls.
Her brown eyes studied me from head to toe as I hopped into her red mustang.
"Sup?"
She asked after a few moments.
"Nothing much... Did you study?"
I asked, her eyes rose almost instantly.
"Crap! The stupid math test!"
Cara exclaimed loudly, I laughed as she placed her hands on her face.
"Well, I'm a complete failure."
She told me after a moment.
"Well, we'll be even more complete failures if you don't get us to school on time."
I told her with a laugh, she giggled along with me and pulled the two of us out onto the road.
"Aaliyah! Come on it's not funny!"
A voice came from out of nowhere, I let my eyes wonder around my surroundings.
"You okay?"
Cara asked as she pulled into a parking space near the front entrance of the school.
"You didn't hear that?"
I asked timidly, she just shook her head and frowned.
"Hear what?"
She asked, I just shook my head and climbed out of her car.
