I don't know how long, they had us waiting in the waiting room, I wasn't even able to see Tami.
My heart was pounding, I was trembling with fear.
I can't lose my sister, she was my real best friend, when Tami wasn't around.
I looked to my dad, he was leaning over, his hands cupping his mouth as if praying in silence.
My brows furrowed, before looking away."Where is she!?" That voice..
I looked up, and sure enough Alison was there, glaring daggers at dad.
He frowned softly.
"She's in the E.R." He responded.
Alison's eyes glanced to me, before this disgusted look appeared on her face.
"Why aren't you at school?" She asked.
I glared.
"Emma is my sister, back off." I hissed.
"The fact, you are even here, disgusts me. Go back to that damned school." She demanded."Why don't you shut the fuck up?" My eyes widened.
Zeke.
He stood behind her, glaring darkly.
Alison glared at him.
"Excuse me?" She snapped.
Zeke gave this surprised expression.
"Yeah, bitch I said to shut the fuck up. That's my boyfriend, you best back up." He spat, there was so much unwanted tension.Dad was completely silent.
Alison was frowning deeply.
"Do you have no kind of respect?" She hissed.Zeke chuckled, bitterly.
"Not when some damn, hag is being an ass to my partner. You can shove your fucking respect, up that ass of yours."
Alison glared to dad.
"Your going to let him talk to me this way? A lady?" She snapped.
Dad shrugged.
"He's only saying the things, I don't feel like saying, so please. Shut the fuck up Alison, my daughter's life is at risk, the most you can do is shut up and leave my son alone." He spat bitterly. For the next three hours, of waiting.
Zeke kept whispering, things would be okay and would kiss my cheek.
I wanted to believe him.
I wanted to believe, Emma and Tami were both going to survive this.
Tears were forming in my eyes, I wiped them in frustration."Thompson?" The doctor called.
Dad and Alison were at their feet, I was scared to go up there with them.
He had a clipboard, with a very upset expression.
I was watching dad's expression, more than anything.
Don't cry.
Please god, don't cry.Dad made his way over to me, his brows furrowing.
I felt this huge lump in my throat.
"Tami is awake, and she's asking for you Drew." He told me.
I frowned deeply.
"What about Emma!?" I demanded.
Dad frowned softly.
"She's still in the ICU, he said they are doing everything they can.. but for now, how about you go see Tami?" He suggested.I took Zeke's hand, who went with me willing after the doctor.
We walked into room 103, my heart broke seeing Tami laying in her bed.
Staring out the window, her lip was busted, her arm and leg were braced and she had cuts everywhere.
Just how bad was the wreck?!
I unlocked my locket, turning into Winnie.
I knew that's who she'd want to see at this time.Tears were falling, when her attention fell on me, and this weak smile appeared on her face.
"Are you being Winnie today?" She asked, her voice was low.
I nodded, looking at her, I took a seat before taking her hand.
"How are you feeling? Do you remember much?" I asked.
Tami let out a shaky breath, but frowned softly.
"Bits and pieces.. I just know, this guy was on the wrong side of the road.. Emma swerved, we went down this hill.. the car rolled until we hit something.. it was on her side.." Tears appeared in Tami's eyes, looking at me.
"She's alive, isn't she?" She asked me now.I looked at her, tears in my eyes, my hand tightened around hers.
"I don't know.. the doctor said they're doing everything, they can.." I murmured.
Tami frowned, tears falling.
"If we had just walked.. no one would of got hurt, no one's lives would be on the line.. Winnie, I'm sorry." She cried now.
I shook my head, frowning as I looked at her.
"Don't be, you didn't do this.. you weren't that other person, Emma is going to make it out of this and when she does.. we're going out for shakes and pizza, my treat." I told her.
Tami nodded, a weak smile with tears.
"Sounds good." She said, letting her eyes close.I felt fear race through me, but her heart monitor was still going, so I knew it was just her sleeping now.
Zeke looked at me.
"Come on, lets go check on your dad." He told me.
I nodded, his hand taking mine.
I snapped the locket back on, knowing doctors wouldn't understand how I went in as a boy then came out as a girl. They would probably want to examine me and run tests..
That honestly, sent shivers down my spine. We walked back into the waiting room, dad and Alison were still there, she was five chairs away from him.
I finally took notice, his wedding ring had been removed.
Dad's attention fell on us.
"How is she?" He asked.
I forced the best smile, I could muster.
"Tami is sleeping now, we talk for a little bit, any word from the doctor about Emma?" I asked.
Dad shook his head.
He was frowning now, looking at me.
"Do you mind going to get us something to eat?" He asked us now.I blinked but nodded.
Dad went for his wallet, but Zeke stopped him.
"Don't, I'll pay for it." He smiled softly at him.Dad looked surprised, but gave a weak smile in return.
"That's very kind of you, thank you Zeke." He said.
I looked to Alison, before frowning.
"One second." I murmured.
I knew she hated me, I knew I disgusted her, I knew I was dead to her.. but still.
I walked over to her.
Her eyes met mine, before this pained expression appeared on her face, like she wanted to say something.
I frowned.
"Dad's sending me on a food mission, do you want anything?" I offered.
Alison's brows furrowed in confusion.
"No..... thanks though." She looked away now.
And that broke my heart.I sighed heavy.
"I'm getting you, your usual." I told her now.
She frowned deeply.
"I'm fine, honestly." She said.
I rolled my eyes.
"You make faces, when you lie." I smiled softly at her.
My face pained, before Zeke lead me out of the hospital."What was that about?" Zeke asked me.
I looked to him, before frowning.
"I was just offering her something to eat, I'm sure she's hungry." I said simply.
Zeke arched a brow, but he nodded.
We went to the local deli, getting the food we wanted.
I yawned, holding the paper bags as we exited the store.
"Ya know.. if my parents, were to get back together, you'd have a hell of a time getting her back on your good side." I laughed softly.Zeke looked to me, blinking.
"She pissed me off, I won't tolerate anyone talking to you like that, even if she is your mom." He stated.
I looked at him, before playfully bumping him.
"You are just a stone cold, asshole." I grinned.
Zeke cracked a soft smirk.
"As long as I'm your asshole, I have no issue with being one." He said.
I laughed.
"I'm swooning, babe."When we made it to the hospital, I felt the bag of food escape from my arms and hit the floor.
Dad was comforting mom, his face staring at the ceiling, his free hand formed in a fist.
Mom was shaking, uncontrollably.
The doctor stood at their side, looking sorry for whatever he announced.
Dad's attention fell on me and Zeke.
I watched the tears form in his eyes.
I felt my blood run cold.
I watched him mouth the words."She didn't make it."
Hey guys!!
Yeah, sorry about this chapter.
I was torn between, other options to keep Emma alive, but she'd struggle with life afterwards.
So, I went with this option..
I hate myself, but sad things do happen in stories, this just happened to be one of my saddest moments.
Losing a sibling.
Losing a daughter.
I apologize in advance, if this triggered you.
I had no intentions, but it did happen.
Chapter sixteen may or may not be up tomorrow. You will just have to wait and see.
Until then everyone.Celty Kana Rain.
