Its been almost two years since Mac and I went on our first date. And know I can't remember how many dates we've had. Although in his line of work I never know if he will be coming home the next day. Everyday is like a gift and we try and spend as my time with each other. This is why I'm always excited whenever we go on a date. He never fails to impress me. Even if the power went out when we are watching a movie he would find some sort of way to make me laugh. Of course he could've made his own generator to start up the buildings power, but I restrain him from doing so. Since I just like to see how things play out without fixing things.I get ready for the date tonight. Later in the evening There's a knock at my door. I race up to it knowing that it is Mac. I open it and smile at the sight of him holding a bouquet of roses. I give him a kiss on the lips and take the roses.
"Thank you so much, Mac," I say hugging him again.I place the roses on the counter top as we drive off to our dinner date.
"Please tell me you don't have to run off to any place this weekend," I say hoping he doesn't. Usually Mac always has a new mission or whatever on weekends. Very rarely will he ever have a week off.
"Actually, we're on a three month break," he says with a grin on his face. I look at him just wanting to hug him again but he's driving. So that hug will just have to wait till later."We're here," he says pulling up into a parking lot.
"That quick? I would've expected you to drive for a few more hours," I joke. Remembering that time we got lost and somehow ended up in Nevada. To this day we still don't have an idea on how we got that lost.He helps me out of the car taking my hand and walking inside the restaurant. Very few people are there which is a good thing.
"Reservations for," the host says looking down at a clipboard.
"MacGyver."
The host nods and takes us to our table."This place is nice," I say looking around the room. Everything seems so expensive. Just the way things look seems like it would cost a fortune.
I take a look at the menu scanning at every single item.
"You know my parents once took me too a fancy restaurant. We ended up getting food poisoning," I Chuckle.
"I'm sure this time you won't be getting sick," Mac adds. I smile as the waitress comes over and takes down our order. Looks like Mac took in extra effort to arrange this. He usually never does his hair and yet today it doesn't look messy. Looks like he actually took some time into this."So anything interesting happening?" I ask gazing at him.
"Well, I mean Jack broke his arm," he says.
"Ouch.""It's not that bad. I mean it could've been worse," he adds. "I don't want to hear it. But sounds like this time it was a close call," I say just feeling lucky that he is here with me now.
"I mean Mac, one day something might happen to you. I wouldn't be able to live with myself-" "That's not going to happen. Trust me," he says cutting me off. He takes hold of my hand across the table.
He somehow reassures me that everything is going to be alright. After dinner the evening soon turns into night as the stars shine above us and the blue sky now a shade of black.
The moon providing enough light to see our footing on the grassy park. Although there are a few landers hanging around here which makes it easier to see.We sit on the dry grass as the light sound of cars passing by is occasionally heard in the distance.
"This place is much more different at night than in the daytime," Mac says looking around and the empty park."This doesn't seem like you, Mac. You sure everything is okay?" I ask looking at him. He smiles. "I'm sure. Stop worrying I'm fine," he says brushing it off. He puts his arm around me and holds me close.
"I wish this could last forever," I mumble.
The quiet hum of the leaves on the trees swaying with the gentle wind. Everything seeming so perfect. It feels like I'm living in a fairytale."Remember on our first date. I made that promise to you?" He asks looking down at me.
"Yes, I remember," I say sitting up and looking at Mac."I told you that I would love you forever and I would be by your side whenever you need me," he goes on. Confused on why he is saying this I just go along with it. "And remember when we were joking around saying that I'll marry you one day," he says with a slight grin forming on his face.
"Yeah, we kept on laughing about it for weeks," I say. He stands up and I stand up as well. Meeting his eyes that twinkle under the moonlight.
"Well, I'm tired of joking about it. Heather, will you marry me?" He asks going down on one knee and pulling it a ring. I immediately gasp looking at Mac then back at the ring. Out of no where Jack, Riley, and Bozer come out.
"Yes, yes," I say feeling a war roll down my face as a smile forms on Mac's face. He slides the ring on my finger then standing up and kissing me on the lips.
"Congratulations, love birds!" Jack says clapping along with Riley and Bozer." I love you," Mac whispers into my ear. "I love you too," I reply back knowing that these words will stay true to both of us forever.
Okay so this will possibly be my last imagine for this. I'll be publishing another MacGyver book that is completed so stay tuned for that! Anyways if any ideas come to me I'll be sure to make an imagine about it. Thank you all for over 300 reads!
