I have never hated school this much in my life. I was just so glad it was Friday. The week consisted of constant comments from Lyssa, although she never really came up to my face anytime. Austin said that if she bothered me anymore then he would have a little talk with her. It was the little things like that that Austin did that made me love him more and more. As of right now I was sitting in math class with Alex and Amber waiting for the bell to ring for lunch. The teacher was going on and on about cosines, sines, and whatever what not, stuff I clearly didn't even understand. I was basically sitting there zoned out while my pencil moved around in circles.

"Excuse me Miss Dickson I asked you a question." The teacher said causing me to come back to reality.

"I'm sorry Mrs. Everhart what was that?"

"What is the answer to question 15?"

"That, I have no clue."

"Do yourself a favor and pay attention Ellie."

I just nodded my head and looked back down at my desk. A couple seconds later a note is set on my desk. I open it up to read:

You look cute when you are zoned out.

I look up and look around the room to see where the note could have came from and see a tall guy with blonde hair smiling my way. When our eyes met he winked and I just quickly looked away blushing. I decide to reply back to the letter.

Um thanks but I have a boyfriend.

The note gets passed on back to him and for the rest of the period I don't hear back from him. Finally the bell goes off dismissing class.

"Remember class the homework is due Monday." Mrs. Everhart tries to call to the students who are trying to get out of the class as soon as possible. I don't blame them, homework on the weekend, psshh I ain't doing that.

Once I'm out of the class I feel and hand on my wrist and the person holding onto me turns me around. It was the guy from math class who passed me the note.

"Hey I'm Xander and you must be Ellie." He smiles which I have to tell you is perfectly straight and perfectly white.

Y-y-yeah." I stutter, although I haven't a clue why.

"Why not sit with me today at lunch. I can introduce you to my friends."

I just nod my head and we head into the cafeteria. We get to the table and my face immediately drops. Lyssa and her group, with a couple boys, are sitting there. Xander leads me along and introduces me to everyone.

"Well what do you know? Ellie." Lyssa smiles at me.

"Hi Lyssa." I say with fake enthusiasm.

"Why don't you just sit down and join us for lunch."

"Actually I think I should just go back to my friends."

"Wait, are you serious? You have a chance to sit with us pops and you choose your loser friends? And to think I was just starting to change my mind about you."

"My friends' losers? I'm sorry sista but I think you have the wrong girl." And with that I walk away.

"Hey Ellie, we were wondering where you ran off to after math." Amber tells me,

"Oh this stupid boy thought he could take me over to his group and make me hang out with him. You know who his friends are? Lyssa and her group, blech right?"

"Totally." Amber says a little too sarcastically.

"Wait you don't like them do you?" I ask my face dropping a little. I swear how much can a girls face drop in one day.

"I mean come on Els they can't be too bad."

"Are you serious Amber, they teased Ellie and tortured her, you have to be kidding me," Alex says speaking up.

"Why do you guys always have to have sticks up your asses?"

"Excuse me?" Alex and I say at the same time.

"Amber if you are going to be like this I don't think we can be together."

"Wait your kidding right? Wanting to be friends with someone other than you guys is a crime? I'm sorry but if that's the case then I guess you are right."

"You guys are being ridiculous, stop? Amber you have wanted to be popular ever since middle school and you must be blind not to see what is right in front of you. You have a best friend and a boyfriend that absolutely care for you and you're treating us like trash."

"Yeah because that's what you are to me now. Goodbye." Amber gets up and starts to head to the table I was just at with Xander. All I can think is what just happened? This couldn't be happening. I look at Alex to see him with his head in his hands, tears threatening to fall down from his face.

"Well that escalated fast."

"I'm going to have to talk to her tonight; I mean her house is my house so she has to come home."

"Don't worry Alex we will get this all settled, there has to be something going on, I mean all her life she has wanted to be the most popular girl in the school. I mean what more does she want? She has you; you have to be the best she has ever had."

"Thanks Ellie, but I think I'm going to go home now, bye."

What the hell is going on? I decide I need to text Austin so he could help.

To Austin: Something is wrong; I don't know what to do.

From Austin: Whoa, whoa, whoa what's wrong?

To Austin: Can you just pick me up?

From Austin: I'm on my way.
